Benefit-claiming council estate residents

213 comments  Add a comment

Maybe I'm just being callous, but I can't help but think society would be better off without a large majority of the benefit-claiming, council estate cases in the U.K.

It sometimes feels that, in any other country in the world, these people would have starved on the streets before now - yet here in this country we have to pay a percentage of our earnings (which we work hard for) to keep them in the style they have become accustomed to.

I read today of a notorious council estate where the youths had hung a dog from the lamp-post and set it on fire.  In fact not so long ago there was another article with the very same residents (complete with a photograph of a bunch of overweight, hoop-earring proles scowling with their arms crossed like some kind of Jeremy Kyle audience) complaining about the council's long-overdue decision to demolish this estate and re-house them.

Council estate residents, benefit claiming I might add that they were to be re-housed at no cost to themselves!

honest people are probably the minority...

I'm sure there's some people who, for whatever reason, genuinely require benefits or disability payments and can't work. Perhaps there are also those who find themselves taking council homes because it's the only choice they have.

I feel truly sorry for these decent and honest people who are probably in the minority, especially if they have to share their lives with this ever-increasing underclass of scum.

I live in a housing estate and I don't fit any of you're judgemental traits or characteristics of a person on a council estate. I am well educated, work full time and I certainly dont claim any benefits. You're attitude and mindset is disgusting to say the least. Grow up and open you're extremely shallow, bigoted mind

Would the real 'A single mum' please stand up! Like we fell for it, 'A single mum'. I was copied on here and had to get very cross when my name was used by a naughty rascal a couple of weeks ago. It's easy to tell from a person's dialogue whether or not they are an impersonator of the person they are copying. I really don't know why anyone would bother though, too much leisure time makes work for you know who!.

A single mum. I understand where trolls on the net are coming from in winding folk up, to get a reaction/result on a certain gripe. But you have wet yourself to reveal you actions. Or have you? Proper wind up merchants or trolls say nothing. After all how do we know you are indeed "single mum". Do you catch my drift? Trolling on this site is pointless.

"A single mum's" claims is almost as stupid as a shop lifter announcing their intentions as he or she enters the premises. And if you still don't understand my statement, it's no wonder that trolls and wind up merchants succeed on this site.

@ A single mum, After looking at your post and the way you seem to think it is all a big joke, goes a long way to explaining the state of affairs in society. You speak of the benefits you are entitled to and different fathers who have impregnated you, almost as if you are happy about this. It is nothing to be proud of though.
The more I look at your post, the more I believe it is a wind up.

All the posters are missing the point of 'A single mums' post. Of course she is proud of herself. People like that genuinely are, they see it as a good thing to get one over on the hard working of this country. People like you and me who toil our guts out, day in and day out, and go without to pay for a roof to put over the heads of our loved ones, and dig deep in our pockets to pay the crippling taxes in this country, cripplingly high taxes that keep people like her in the lap of luxury. Believe me 'A single mum' is silently laughing at all us hard grafters.

A single mother states - "Now I've got 7 children and a large council house completely free" Only it's not 'completely free' is it? Oh no, it's being paid for by all the decent, hard grafting taxpayers, taxpayers who will carry on paying for your offspring for most of their feckless, miserable lives. I can hardly see how that is anything to brag about, but maybe to your kind it is a badge of honor.

The person who used the "single mum" handle is at this moment laughing their heads off at all those gullible people that have swallowed a wind up. The more you react to these idiots that post rubbish, the more they will continue with stupidity.

A single mum claims "Hi I'm a single mum and I'd like to confess. When I was 15 I got sh@gged by someone in the back alley"
This is not a confession, it is almost a statement of pride!
She goes on the state "I don't even know who the kids' fathers are but who cares?"
Well, 'A single mum', I am sure these poor children will care who their fathers are, if not now, certainly when they are older. You think your lifestyle offers you financial security and maybe it does, but it is no substitute for the security of a loving, stable home life.

Don't call me a twerp, then. I took the trouble to write a full length gripe and it's irritating to be insulted by 'one line' posters. Plus, I thought a lot of the points I made were quite valid. Why not have a go at writing one yourself? - It takes a bit of time and effort but it's more rewarding than firing off one-liners. And I DO know about being diabetic - have been there myself.

Yes, I will be going. Just as soon as you learn how to spell. So, it could be a long while yet. Still, gives us all a laugh.

You really have to question the intelligence levels of some of the gripers on this site. And to think, they have the right to vote.
