One of the most successful cons took place in the 18th Century, when older men and women dictated fashions to favour themselves. The most cunning of all their ploys was to decree that everyone should wear white or silver wigs. Such wigs eliminated youth's advantage over old age because, for a century, practically everybody went around looking 60 to 80.
In the 19th Century, Beau Brummell killed the senseless fashion by discarding his wig and the younger generation was at last able to take advantage of their youthful looks.
Centuries later and young people are being conned again but this time the target is the handsome and beautiful among them. Latest fashions dictate that the young should make themselves look as ugly and deformed as possible, if they wish to appear cool. As a result, we endure surely the most off-putting styles of all time.
Rings, piercings, tattoos, dyed hair, stubble... fashion?
Rings are stabbed through tender parts of the anatomy, scarring faces and bodies; irremovable tattoos disfigure perfect flesh; "designer stubble" (surely the most slovenly fashion of all time) adds 10 years to a man's age; hair is dyed in hideous shades; and, to finish the spectacle, all wear the drabbest, most unflattering clothing ever seen on the planet.
It's understandable that the plain and ugly among us wish to bring good-looking people down to their own unattractive levels. But why on earth do the handsome and the beautiful adopt these fashions and, as a result, throw away the best asset they will ever be given?

And style has absolutely nothing to do with attractiveness whatsoever. You have got your wires crossed!!!
