It's time the UK took China to task and stood up to this agressor

It's been a while since I've written a gripe but I feel very motivated to do so right now, particularly as my country is being threatened by an aggressor and one who has recently compromised the whole world by withholding information on a deadly virus.  You're all familiar with this and it's called Covid 19.  No need to talk about that any further as the news has been out there for a while and if you're living in northern climates consider a healthy dose of Vitamin D and get on a diet if your dragging extra pounds.

Right back to business.  China has directly threatened the UK twice in recent weeks.  Once over Huawei and more recently on our stance on Hong Kong and offering a route to citizenship.  We're not a nation of people who kowtow to aggressors and we're not going to be told what to do by a nation of 1.6 billion people mostly kept in the dark or at the very least on a tight leash, If you've missed the news, we're in the middle of a Coronavirus pandemic that originated in Chna, was covered up by the Chinese Communist Party aided and abetted by the World Health Organisation (yeah, sue me if you like, we all know it's true and everyone knows it!).

To add fuel to the fire China is currently engaging India in a border dispute and simultaneously introducing a new security law in Hong Kong which basically means people can't protest or demonstrate against their government without fear of tanks rolling in and killing people.  Oh...  anyone here old enough to remember Tianemon Square?  That's another incident those fuckers aren't keen to talk about.

Okay.  Do some Googling if none of this is familiar.  If you've got a brain in your head you'll be able to figure it out one way or another.

What I propose is this.  We need a call to action globally and we need to put pressure on the Chinese government immediately and it has to be very firm and precise.  It should include sanctions and we as individuals can back this up by boycotting products and services until the Chinese Communist Party comes to its senses.  We are strong as a nation and we have many allies in our corner to help us fight this aggressor.

Over to you.  Where do you stand?  If you have any petitions, protest movements or site please share them here.

Not long now before World War Three begins to end mankinds rule on this planet. Mankind is fast approaching their downfall. It's in the human races nature to dominate other spieces. The fear of a nuclear amagedon has lost it's horror. Those at the top of political world power want total domonation over all others and will stop at nothing to achieve their insanity.

It should include sanctions. China warned the west that Covid wasn’t as deadly as made out, but the politicians panicked. Take off your mask and smell the lockdown BS and it’s not coming from China. Encinitas Pro Concrete Co.

I think you'll find it started in Europe, not the US and not surprisingly after soldiers living amongst dead and rotting corpses for years during WW1. The first cases were reported in Spain and that's where it got it's name from. The 'Spanish flu' was influenza and really was a killer disease, not like the covid flu of today which millions are not dying from.

Just to point out that "Spanish Flu" did not originate in Spain, it is believed to have started in the US, crossing the Atlantic with American GI arriving to fight in WW1. It's called "Spanish Flu" because it was first reported in the Spanish newspapers and only because Spain was one of the few countries without censorship due to WW1.

Methinks you’ve been watching a bit too much BBC! :)

China is an aggressor? As part of NATO, how many countries has Britain bombed in the past two decades? Start with Serbia and start counting. How many has China bombed?

The Influenza pandemic post WW1 was called the ‘Spanish Flu’ because it originated in Spain. Blame Spain for that? China warned the west that Covid wasn’t as deadly as made out, but the politicians panicked. Take off your mask and smell the lockdown BS and it’s not coming from China.

The protests in Hong Kong were popular at first (I was there), but became minority student led when people realized who was behind it all. The same people as the Arab Springs and the overthrow of Yanukovych in the Ukraine.

Tiananmen Square (spelt correctly). Do you also remember ‘Bloody Sunday’ in Northern Ireland? Every country has its own skeletons rattling in the cupboard.

You know what is frightening? The level of gullibility and indoctrination that western politicians and the mass-media have pumped into soft millennial heads.

Totally agree with you. Unfortunately, as Timelady says, successive governments have allowed them to fund parts of our infrastructure such as power stations as well using some of their technology in telecoms.

As for Covid19, I too have my suspicions!

Personally I've stopped buying anything made in China, and on ebay I check where the buyer is based very carefully before buying anything. If we all do the same it will be a start!

The problem is that China, over the past decade, has sought and succeeded in buying up large chunks of the West's infrastructure. In plain terms China has "The West" by the goolies.

Most would agree with your sentiments regarding China's recent actions, and you didn't even mention oppression in Tibet and the "Vocational Education and Training Centers" which are internment camps for the purpose of indoctrinating Uyghurs and other Muslims.

But I don't think that many in "The West" would have the stomach to stand-up to China for very long if the lights started going out? Or the Chinese money that sustains many industries was suddenly withdrawn.

China has played the international community and won.
