That last bit sounds more like jumping from the frying pan and straight into the fire to me. But there again I can't stand Facebook! It's an evil beast and it has had a devastating effect on people and relationships not to mention kids!
However, Twitter goes down and people jump straight on to the nearest social network. Personally I think that's a missed opportunity. First of all there's a wealth of interesting and informative websites out there with enough interesting content to expand minds rather than whiling away the time checking out who's dumped who. But the saddest thing of all is that it would have been a perfect opportunity to talk to real people. Pick up the phone and call your mum or speak to your uncle Bob. What a sad society we live in these days.
Social media consultant David Schneider joked "I've had to talk to real people and that's a little bit frightening". Well David, it wouldn't be so frightening if you put your social media down and started actually talking to real people.
I do wonder if there will come a time when people CAN'T actually talk to each other!

We often see groups of people, sat in our local Tesco cafe, doing what..... pratting about with their smart phone toy and ignoring each other.
I look over their shoulder and most of the time it's Facebook or Twitter etc.
What a waste of life.
