It is so frustrating being left handed in a right-handed world. Given that we make up one in ten of the population you would think that us ?south paw? folk would be accommodated a little better wouldn't you? Left handed people just aren't equipped with the tools to do the job.
Today I went to pick up my driver's license and I had to sign on one of those notepads. Well, being left handed I accidentally leaned on it about 10 times, causing me to have to re-sign all those times and causing extra work for the already crabby lady.
I find right handed computer mice very awkward to use, especially the ones moulded specifically for right-handed people. Also, I have lost count of the number of times I have been to an Internet caf? and of course all the computers are set up with the mouse on the right hand side of the keyboard. So I sit down and move it over to the left hand side and carry on using the PC. When I leave, sometimes the staff will go over and set it up right-handed again.
Once I was even given a filthy look as I left, like I have "soiled the equipment" just by using it left handed.
This sometimes causes a dangerous situation
Another thing that I find annoying are scissors. When I try to cut fabric or something rather difficult, I have to either get a right-handed friend to do it for me, or I have to awkwardly try to cut it with my right hand. This sometimes causes a dangerous situation, because I don't have the greatest control over my right hand.
Now I must admit, there are SOME left handed scissors and other tools out there, but they are a pain to find and they get lost in the pile of right handed tools.

Handed desk which makes it embarrassing mostly and some what inconvenient. The note book rings were always in the way so therefore to this day write with my paper turned at an 90 degree angle. I don't mean to be griping just stating facts. Everyone wants to whine about being discriminated against so I just want to stand up for left handers everywhere.
Finally I would just like to tell elementary educators to stop trying to make all their students right handed. If a child is using there left hand do not discourage this. I have concluded iny experience with educating children that children that were made to be right handed are far more likly to develope dyslexia . There brains a working the way God intended when you
Switch that you cause chaos in the brain.
If you will notice actors , musicians , artist are often left handed I love being left handed I think the educators should wake up and take notice quit discriminating!

If they would rather not answer the question about which hand they use, why take the time to answer it - by saying, you would rather not answer it?

Ah...perhaps I'm just too picky, but who knows. Maybe sometime in the near future, the percentage of left handed people will increase. I doubt it will be equal to that of right handed people, but maybe it'll grow to be more than just 10 percent.

I grew up using a right-handed mouse, scissors, and keyboard with my right hand. I'm used to it and it doesn't bother me at all! Honestly I can't do any of those things left handed! I'm 1/2 way adapted I guess you could say!
