Cheap lunch at London cafe selling food and drink for a pound

Inspired by similar shops in Israel and New Zealand a London cafe is selling sandwiches and drink at only £1!

In an age of austerity after a recession many would consider such a bold move very welcome indeed.

But what exactly do you get for a pound in the capital and will it stop the lunchtime tummy grumbles?

Well congratulations I suppose for taking a chance on an idea such as this.  But one has to argue who in their right mind would go out every lunch time and spend over £5 on sandwiches - I certainly wouldn't.  There again, city workers are paid rather well aren't they?

It's not hard to make a few sandwiches the night before or in the morning.  Preparation and a bit of forward thinking is all that is required and you can REALLY make some savings.

Come to think of it up here in Birmingham we have the Meal Deal place on New street selling baguettes for 99p.  Not half a baguette mind you, a WHOLE one and it really is enough on its own.
