Orange pay as you go, well it's great until you're right the middle of a phone call and you get a text message to let you know that you have sixty seconds of credit remaining.  The text message somehow ends the call, even though you've still got credit left.  Unfortunately you don't get to finish your conversation and you then don't have enough credit to phone the person back.  That sixty seconds has just been wasted - thanks Orange!

This has happened to me before and I'm fed with being cut off mid conversation.  Of course I then decided to ring customer service to complain, but ended up stuck in their endless automated menu system instead.  You get to top up your credit, report you're phone stolen etc., but that's about it.  Where are all the customer service people?

Can't they just put something on the menu that allows you to speak to a real person, because at the end of the day that's all I wanted to do.  I don't want to sit here pressing numbers and waiting to hear more options.  I'm sure I'm not the only one that gets fed up being stuck in a loop, transferred from one set of options to the next.  You know how it goes... press 1 if you want this and press 2 to continue, or option 3 to go and join another endless queue.  Arrggh!

I'm guessing that this is just a way to cut costs in the area of customer service.  Why should it cost you to phone customer service? It never used to cost anything to ring them in the past.

By the way, the reason my credit was low to begin with was because I got conned into ringing an 0870 number to chase a missed parcel delivery.  I'm fed up with being ripped off left right and centre, first by this premium rate number and finally by Orange when I had managed to track down a geographical number and was in the process of speaking to someone.  I'm actually getting fed up with the costs of mobile calls as well, almost to the point of chucking the thing away and using phone boxes.  There again, it costs a minimum of 40p to make a call there as well so maybe not!  I'll probably end up putting a tenner on and using it for emergencies only from now on.

As it happens, I finally managed to track down a free number you can call from any landline.  You can call orange customer service on 0800 079 1050 if you want to talk to a real person.  I called them to vent my spleen because I was so fed up with that text message that interrupted my call.

Okay, so how do I stop receiving texts from Orange when my credit is low?  The nice customer service advisor I spoke to let me into a secret.  If you reply to the message with the following: "STOP ALL" as a message, you wont get any more of these annoying texts.  It's an automated service so no need to speak to anyone!

I called them.. 450.. they asked if it was informational or promotional texts I was receiving. I said just junk.. they checked, they said my phone wasn't registered for any.. But they'd check.
Then they said they'd put a bar on all texts from orange to my phone. (I guess if it works, then hopefully i'll still get texts from others)

I have twice talked to a human at Orange and asked them to stop all they stupid text messages, this did work for about a month each time then they started up again. So I'll use up my existing orange credit and try vofa phone. I just think Orange should respect they paying customers!

Thanks for that number george. Like you I had no credit left and tried to phone orange (been trying for the last three days) . emailed got no reply either. Now made up my mind to change to another company. But will be checking whether I am able to speak to a REAL person or not free of charge when I have to. Been with orange for many years.!!

've just had a text from orange telling me that I now have a standard rate of 10p when I send a text from europe, and I can receive them free as well, why was this not done at the begining of the summer, when people actually go on holiday?? I was charged 75p in June per text message............

I'm sick of the attitude of Orange and the fact that they will neither contact me as I want them to (via email), nor will they 'review' my account as per their own advertising material.

Having been working away from home I needed regular contact with my family so I chose a 'package' from Orange which is supposed to be for £20 per month. Ha! The only bill I've seen for this amount is the very first one and that was because it was pro rata-ed.

After only one month of beginning my supply with Orange I returned home and therefore I did not require the full benefits of the package. I tried to contact Orange (impossible) to see if I could change to a better package for me but I now find myself being charged around £30/£35 per month for a service which I don't use - and as I can't contact the correct department within Orange all I can say is, if you are looking for a new phone supplier, whatever you do DON'T CHOOSE ORANGE AS THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF! Currently any telephone call I made is being charged at around £4 per minute!

Vodafone uses delay tactics in my opinion. I telphoned Vodafone to check whether or not they had received a mobile phone I had returned, and also to request my PUC code so that I could take my custom elsewhere.

I was asked to hold whilst the person on the other end of the line checked to see if the mobile phone had been received. After 2 hours on hold to Vodafone I was still on waiting. During that time the call person did not once come back to advise it there was a problem. Whilst I was on hold I phoned Vodafone again using a friends mobile and could not get through - one does wonder why? Are customers being put on hold until they get fed up and put down the phone, or are call centre staff just not answering the phone?

I will be leaving Vodafone - even if I have to lose my existing mobile number, by taking direct action and cancel my direct debit arrangement.

I bought an orange phone last year I think it was, and I only kept it for 2 weeks before orange drove me up the wall by keep sending text messages all the time. I was recieving loads of them three or four times a week telling that if I topped up by so much then they would give me so much extra free and annoying texts like that. I was a night worker and these texts were waking me up so I phoned orange and spoke to a less than interested employee who asked how many texts I had recieved that day!

She said that she had put a note on their system and that may help, I thanked her and hung up.

Getting back into bed I heard bleep bleep, got my phone yes orange again welcoming me to them. I thought I will give it a few days it will stope now I have asked them to but it did not stop!

In the end I got so annoyed with orange I threw the phone away (it was only a cheap one) and went and bought another phone with another network. I will not go with orange again.

I tried the stop all text and I got an error message when I sent it to Orange. I HATE their texts!

When the phone system gives you your options to press, keep jamming 8. In about 30 seconds they'll transfer you to speak to a person
