Internet Explorer users 'at risk' as tech support ends

Microsoft has ended technical support and security updates for older versions of its Internet Explorer browser.

The changes, which will affect versions 8, 9 and 10 of the browser, were announced in August 2014.

Some estimate that these older browsers account for more than 20% of web traffic while Computerworld claims that only 55% of IE users are using the latest version.

Well this is a good thing I think because Microsoft's Internet Explorer has been holding up inovation on the web for years.

Also, when it comes to usage stats I'd be disinclined to believe the nonsense statistics that come from companies like NetMarketShare.  Their numbers for users using Chrome versus Internet Explorer are seriously flawed. Just Google lit!

The smart thing to do is to ditch IE now and go install Google Chrome!

I'll stick to Firefox thank you. I suspect that Chrome is an integral part of Google's collecting every imaginable fact about its users, and then passing them on to unnamed parties.
