Ebay UK banned buying and selling tickets

eBay should not ban ticket sales

Banned on Ebay

Ebay have got their head up their proverbial butt over the buying and selling certain items they decided to ban. So what if it was a charity gig? If you own a ticket, you should be allowed to sell it and others should be allowed to buy it!

I am really cheesed off that eBay has decided to ban the sale of Live 8 tickets. Its plain and simple just another case of the moralistic few few trying to impose their will on others.

13-12-2007I agree people should be allowed to sell tickets on Ebay but at the end of the day, when you have greedy idiots who try to sell a £100 ticket for £2000!! It says it all. I feel even more sorry for the silly beggar that buys them at at that pricePhoebe
29-8-2007eBay pretty much does as it likes and there's not much you can do about it. If they want to ban something suck as ticket sales then they can - go elsewhere.Luppa
29-12-2005well in this instance, well done Ebay in stopping the sell of Live 8 tickets. You think they would have learnt the first time around that the money goes to heads of those undeveloped countries so they can buy weapons to keep killing their own people with! So well done Ebay on not helping with the sl...moreMystickiss
23-12-2005Geldope is a blatant egotist plain and simple. He had a couple of half decent hits a few decades ago, which is more than you can say for bonehead bono and U2, another bunch of hopeles egotists jumping on the political and Charity bandwagon as they age. Having said that though, Geldorfs tv seri...morearon creskew

01-7-2005Your right mairtin, I'm so bitter that I wish I could wear sun glasses all the time...even inside during winter (so I can be really 'cool')And my ego is soooo massive due to my huge consumption of cocaine...so much cocaine that I feel the need to strut around on stage and impose my views...moreMark
27-6-2005Oh Mark, you sound so bitter. Has beens? No my dear friend U2 still sell millions of records and can still pack stadiums. Perhaps to you they are crap. That's fair enough... hey I've a great idea, don't buy their records! Also don't make any contributions to Live 8. But please don...moremairtin
26-6-2005What a load of nonsense you say. Ebay are right. it is there site and they can do as they see fit... Oh and Bob Geldof is not Sir Bob, he's Irish 100 per cent!mairtin
19-6-2005Having the misfortune to live on the Edgware Road, I will be making every effort to escape the sound of Bono and his chums dishing out their tired old stadium rock! I'm sick of pious 'stars' lecturing us about how we should do this or that with our money..how dare people like this come o...moreMark
17-6-2005This entire event benefits just one group of people - the artisits who are performing. The whole Live 8 thing will not change anything - it will not erase 3rd world debt. It will not erase poverty. But it will be a lovely 3 hour advert for those performing. I bet all the agents of those artists cou...moreMr.Man
16-6-2005People who want to sell tickets that they have bought or if they have won, then should be able to sell, even if they do make a massive profit. Although it is perfectly legal for people to sell their tickets on ebay, it's only because ' Sir Bob Geldof ' interfered, although ' Live 8 &...moreBrad Hooton - Arturia - Bolton
16-6-2005I think you'll find that Sir Bob was outraged by people PROFITING out of Africa's misery, rather than by the actual act of selling the tickets. It would be altruistic to expect people to donate at least some of the funds from the sale to an African charity. In reality, that wouldn't ...moreNikki
