The Weekly Gripe

Do mobile ring tones just drive you mad?

Mobile phone ringtones drive me mad

They drive me crazy

Sometimes when I hear one of those really annoying ringtones I just want to take that mobile phone and shove it where the sun no longer shines. They are just so damn irritating!

Please can we have some sanity in the office because these stupid ringtones on mobile phones are driving me nuts!

28-11-2009 Hands up, I have the original stripper music on mine, until I can come up with something more stupid than that.Gainsborough lad.

29-8-2007Many ringtones oftenly does not suit our choice and doest not acceptable by hearing power(ears). If ringtones are soft that does not make a noice is good for general environment like office, home, public place.Suresh Chowhan
09-3-2007The Government are "concerned" about lots of things, Bob. To be deleted by the admin: (like everything else I wrote) Complaining or 'moaning' NEVER solves problems, it just airs them for people to argue over. Problems are solved by people getting off their backside and solving them, ie. not moaning on some stupid website. If the mobiles are REALLY that loud in your office (and you're not just an irritable prat), then tell them that it bothers you, nicely, or just listen to music, problem solved! Surely you agree that it's in our best interest not to feel the need to moan or complain? Yes? So DO SOMETHING about that problem, don't just sit about and complain about it. I just feel compelled to try and get that through to the people on here. Weekly Gripe needs things to bother you, if you didn't have problems this site would DIE.THIS SITE is what's wrong with
02-10-2006Sad Slapper, By nature of the name Weekly Gripe, which is another name for moan, this is a site which specialises in peoples moans and groans about subjects that annoy them. What have you actually done about things that annoy you, nothing I would think except ridicule people who let loose with a good gripe to get things off their chest. You say nobody likes a know-it-all, I don't know it all but what I do know I try and pass on to other people that's my job since I'm a school Learning Mentor. If I see a mistake I try and help someone correct it.That's the way people learn by their mistakes not by having it all done for them by Windows spell check. How do you get on when filling in a form or when applying for a job and the employer askes you to apply in your own writing. Even the Government is concerned about peoples standard of spelling and literacy amongst adults.Bob
01-10-2006Well sad slapper,if the only way you can get your kicks is by taking the mick out of sesible discussion then I really feel sorry for you and your friend. And I hope your computer spell check always works instead of your brain otherwise you will be in trouble. Try learning for a change, there are plenty of people out there to help you. What did people do before ringtones, sing each other silly songs over the phone?Bob
29-9-2006Hello sad slapper.I believe you were on another thread saying that bad spelling was ok.I think perhaps you must like people who make illiterate comments or so it seems. If you and Ed think this sites so stupid, then why are you on it in several places making stupid ill informed comments.Bob
27-9-2006Im a ringtone composer its a good living. I resent your anti-ringtone atatude. Im also high up in the labour GOVERMENT, YOUR GOVERMENT. I know Tony. I'm a ringtone composer it's a good living. I resent your anti-ringtone attitude. I'm also high up in the Labour GOVERNMENT, YOUR GOVERNMENT. I know Tony. Would that be Tony the Tiger from the breakfast cereal adverts. If you want to join in a discusion then try and make sensible comments. You have fooled no one.By the way, I corrected your english so you may know in future.Bob
09-8-2006Try an experiment. Sit in a crowded room and then visibly take out your mobile phone, extend your arm well before tapping out a pretend message.Check around and see how many people cannot resist doing the same. Mobile phones and silly ringtones seem to be a silly habit at the moment.I have one and all I use it for is to comunicate when needs be not as a games machine, camera, computer, calculator etc. etc.Bob Lynch
24-5-2006I am also sick and tired of listening to certain pathetic ringtones on television, I can't just sit down and watch tv without these adverts for the ownners just wanting to make lots of money. Although I don't mind the ' Crazy Frog - Axel F. ' one. http://google.com--
27-3-2006As the pruod owner of one of the first phones that clips of real audio could be used as ringers it was so cool in about 2000 or 2001 long before everyone was selling ringtones. Then came TV and streaming audio about 2 years ago. Imagine crowding around a cell phone screen watching a basketball game. Now to 2006 I still have the same phone and the ringer is one of the stock ringers on the phone that sounds like bell ringer on an old phone; and I barely watch tv on the phone anymore. It's just a fad, cool for the moment give it two years for the novelty to wear off and the bandwidth to be gobbled up unless you are in an area where CDMA systems rule the roost (N. America and Asia)en
23-12-2005Who would want a mobile anyway they're just another bleedin pointless distraction, or even worse - an unwanted intrusion. Banning the mindless things along with most other noise pollutants would make the world a far better place. I never made anything worth a sou on my VOD shares anyway.rastus bludnock
