Twitter annoyances - unknown followers, who are they?

Besieged by random followers on Twitter

Unknown followers

Perhaps this is to be expected when something becomes popular. As with the notorious and somewhat over hyped Facebook, as soon as word gets out about something new, suddenly everyone wants piece of the action.

23-10-2009 I'm never likely to tweet; can't see any reason to. If you want to keep in touch with friends and family you already have post, telephone calls, text messages and email; why do you need anything else? If twitter is open to anyone then it's fairly obvious that it will be abused by peop...moreGRUMPYOLDWOMAN
