Disneyland Paris hotel problems and complaints

Poor customer service
Have you ever booked a holiday to get away from it all and have a relaxing time, just to end up having a nightmare time? I had one such experience recently on a trip to Disneyland Paris.

I recently paid for, and went on, a holiday to Disneyland, Paris. I took my fiancée for her 21st birthday. Whilst there we had some abysmal service and so when I got back I wrote this VERY long letter of complaint.

| 23-4-2010 | Someone must've missed the following when submitting this gripe:
"Keep your gripe to a reasonable size, ie. not too long and not too brief. Most full page gripes are at least 250 to 350 words"
You must've been really pi$$ed to write a 4,282 word gripe lol | Youthful Griper |
| 23-4-2010 | To be honest mate if you had come to be with that sort of attitude in your complaint I would have frogmarched you out the door and told you to F off! | I hate knobbheads! |
| 08-4-2010 | You must be joking right ?, If I worked for Disneyland and had to answer the phone to people like you I would have laughed down the phone at you and hung up. Is it Mickey Mouses fault that your child go Chicken Pox ???. That's why you take out cancellation insurance and if you don't then you take the risk of losing your money. People like you should be sterilised !!! | Dave |
| 08-4-2010 | We booked to go to Disneyland Paris on Easter Sunday. When we awoke my 5 year old son was covered in chicken pox. We called the doctor who advised us not to travel. We called Disney immediately who said we could not get our money back because it was the day we were travelling and get it from our insurance company. they told us we should give them 3 days notice. My argument is if I had known he had chicken pox 3 days earlier I would have cancelled the booking but how was I supposed to know he would get them on the day we were travelling. Do they think I am a mind reader? To add insult even further we had bookeed to see a wild west show on Wedensday evening which costs a family of 4 £238.00 we were told we could not have the money back for that. My argument was we have given you 3 days notice their reply was read the small print.....
This is a email we sent to Disney
I found your staff to be uncooperative and quite frankly uncaring to my plight. Had we travelled whilst my son in his highly contagious state we would have undoubtedly passed chicken pox onto not only residents of the hotel but any children we were queuing with to get on your attractions I got the impression from speaking from your staff today that would be Disney's preferable route so not only do you show no compassion with my situation but you were prepared to compromise the health and well being of your other guests. | Liz Riley |

| 04-2-2010 | Scott you need to spend more time being romantic to your girlfiend. Yes you had a hicup. Did you have to spend your whole holiday complaining about it and runing the holiday no! You could of laughed it off as the suprise was ruined anyway and bought your girlfriend some roses. maybe even shown her a birthday she would never forget with mickey cinderlla, and some fun upstairs. Instead you were so ridiculously obessesd with the cake that your girlfriend was not number one on her 21 st. It was not Disneys fault it was yours. whilst she may not see that now in few years time she will. Will she want to spend the rest of her life with someone who s glass will always be half empty? Lydia be strong your discrimination should never have happened. scott you need to put things into perspective. | Nancy |
| 04-2-2010 | If i'm going to Disney Orlando I stay on site, if i'm going to Disneyland paris I know my expectations will be met if I stay offsite. The connecting train runs from nearly everywhere in Paris to Disney. If you stay in Santa Fey etc you know its barely 3 stars hotel. With the exception of Lydias experience where she suffered discrimnation the cake and the keys etc is normal. You cant expect 5 star service, and if your speaking in a vaguley aggressive manner to a member of staff who s english is not there first language they are going to becomme aggressive back. As a customer service person mself I am far more sympathetic to people who dont insult me. | Rick |
| 04-2-2010 | Holgate I understand as mother myself you want the best for your children. Sometimes these things just happen. If it were me I would of just used the other hotels pool. At the end of the day you are there to see mickey, not swim. I understand though as mother if you make promises you have to follow through. That is why I never go into too much detail with my son in case things dont go quite to plan. You guys are incredibly lucky, not everyone can afford to go to Disney. Yes there will always be Hiccups but the magic is always there if you choose to see it. If your happy = kids happy. If your feeling angry, aggressive, upset, disappointed your kids will pick up on it. No matter where you holiday in the world things will/can go wrong, my advise go with the flow unless like in Lydias case it is very serious like Discrimnation. | paula |
| 04-2-2010 | Why on earth would Disneyland Paris have more English speaking people? Hello your in Paris! I am English myself and I would never be so arrogant to go on holiday without a little translation book. Yes ok you wont be fluent, but normally the French or whoever will appreciate your attempt to try and will be more helpfull. In France this is especially true. I'm sorry guys but you dont go to any Disney for the food, and unless you have money to burn you should(like me ) stay offsite. To have a decent time to meet anyones extradonairy expectations your looking at £1400 for a decent hotel with decent food. Lydia I am so sorry to hear about your experience no body should go through that. When I went with my friend Tasmin we were allowed to ride all rides first, and special attention was given to Tasmin. were they still unhelpful after you explained your daughters needs? I know it sounds silly but I have an Autistic nephew and unless I specify his needs people are ignorant . | Lou |
| 04-2-2010 | I'm sorry but what exactly was the point of your post? you were refunded £100.00 for a 25 cake. That just shows you how well Disney repects there customers complaints. | mikey |
| 04-2-2010 | The several things that you have mentioned I have experienced personally. To be honest and I hate to sound rude but I think you almost ruined the holiday experience your self. The cake for example your girlfriend/fiancee would be just of happy if you had a quiet word with the waiter and they bought out her breakfast or desert with a sparkler or something. As for reservations it is always best to reserve restaurants before you go to any disney resort normally 60 days before. Also food in paris alone is expensive, in Disney its insane- planet hollywood even worse. I'm pretty certain your girlfriend was upset not because of minor difficulties but because you were negative and upset. Yes it is not always possible to speak to a manager right there and then. But it is possible to organise a time slot for another time. as for your late check out, it was not the girl s at the desk fault, she sorted (tried to at the best of her ability) to sort it out for you. I feel all this time was wasted, and in short ruined your girlfriends 21 st. You could have left your luggage in a holdall and come back for it before you made your way to the airport. Disney whilst is an exceptionall holiday destination of the world, it is not immune to problems like every other hotel. I dont understand what was so upsetting about a cake? When I went with my fiancee when on my 21st we had far more exciting things to do than blow out candles if you get my drift. Please dont let this ruin your image of disney. | sparkler |
