Where have all the REAL new-age and spiritual people gone?

In search of a more spiritual community

Searching for a spiritual community

Where are the real new-age people? The ones who want to nurture strong bonds with like-minded people? If you're out there, declare yourself! Don't just save your humanity for the seminar, the talk or the books!

I'm very interested in belonging to a caring, more spiritual community. And by spiritual, I don't mean one wracked by traditional dogma. I don't wear dreadlocks and I don't conform to stereo-typical images of such communities.

25-4-2008Hahahaha yes, I actually agree with that too. Being surrounded by nasty people can drag down almost anyone eventually, and can make it harder to develop to be able to resist them in the first place. You are right. hmmm, but where to go? There are countless retreats and places to visit, but only for...morefriend
30-3-2008It's all very well, friend, to say that happiness comes from within; but it is also perfectly legitimate to want to live in a more caring & less materialistic society. It is hard work to maintain personal happiness when living in a place where practically everyone around you has a very dif...moregrumpyoldwoman
27-3-2008True happiness comes from a sense of peace and contentment, feeling compassion and loving kindness towards others. It has to come from within. You could move where you want but its more than likely that after a short while you will return to your normal level of happiness, which you are clearly not ...morefriend
22-3-2008D-D, you sound like a sanctimonious, moralising, egotistical, arrogant idiot. In fact, the exact oppostite to what I would view as 'spiritual'. People like you make me laugh! You're like the Pharisees who confronted Jesus with their 'holier than thou' attitude, and Jesus showe...moreaer
18-3-2008Stay on the road you're on, RA. Ignore critics who are part of the spoonfed system or blind to the higher values of life. I can't offer anything on alternative communities but it's more important (imo) to develop our own awareness and associate ourselves with what has greater meaning and...moreD-D

06-3-2008I love it when people say we're a Christian country. All those Christian values coming out of people, acceptance, love thy neighbour. Steve_ Cast couldn't be more wrong. People forget this country was apagan country before the Christians killed them all. So actually we're a pagan country...moreDamon
18-2-2008My problem with the gripe by RA is her condemnation of her fellow human beings, labelling people as the 'silly, cold mums at the school playground only concerned with their looks and 4x4s'. Contrasting them with her 'lack of shallowness and greed' is somewhat ironic in that she seem...moreaer
15-2-2008we are here!!! Just don't see us cos we do not have fuzzy hair and cannot afford those expensive colourful clothes and trinkets. I do share those ideals and have moved out of England to get away from the 4 wheel drive yummy mummies, although they have also invaded Scotland. Building their posh f...moreChrissy

12-2-2008What a load of old tosh!! This site is supposed to be for gripes...not someones desire to drop out of society! Pull yourself together, get a bloody job and grow up!Mark
11-2-2008RA, ignore the critics; your heart and mind are in the right place. We were much happier when life was more simple; more like the life they still live in areas called "backward" like rural Greece. Everything is too cheap these days; people who throw food away can obviously afford to. Mu...morereactionary
