The British Chip shop shuts too early

Demise of the traditional British chippy

No fish and chips at pub closing time

You name your taste and the chances are you can probably get it, except that is if you fancy some fish and chips or pie and chips. I know the kebab shops, even the Indian and Chinese places do chips.

What ever happened to the traditional British chippy? These days if you're out for a night on the tiles and have a hankering for some fish and chips at pub closing time, the chances are you will be out of luck.

30-4-2008Actually it is rather sad. At least at a proper British chippy you wouldn't get food poisoning. I recently ate a kebab from a fairly dodgy looking takeaway. I should have known better, but I was talking to god on the big white telephone. Never had that with a fish supper from a proper chippy...moreBill

20-11-2007Fair comment Sharker. I was just dying for some good old fashioned Chippy grub the other night post pub and a curry really wasn't going to fit the bill at all! Alas I got home and made some pancakes instead - so that's kind of a compromise.Kenny
