Jumping the lights
Have you ever been standing at a pedestrian crossing and just as you are about to cross a cyclist tears straight through the lights nearly running you over? Why is it that they think they can get away with this?

| 13-7-2008 | It's about time a solid lobby group was formed to combat these unlicenced, untested, uninsured anonymous road terrorists. Are they road users with wheels? If so then they should carry a licence plate and be subject to the rules as the rest of us are. If they are not road users then they should b...more | Bob |
| 10-7-2008 | This whole debate needs to be put into perspective. I both cycle and drive so I can see the point from both angles. I think if people need to cycle on the pavement they stick to the 4mph limit that mobility scooters have to limit themsleves to. Id like to see the figures for cycling caused injuries ...more | Rob |

Sometimes it's better to survive and annoy a few car users. Jumping red lights saves lives. A lorry often is unable to see a cyclist while waiting at lights. Many countries don't have traffic lights but are safe.
However I think cyclist...more | adam |
| 18-6-2008 | erm I'm completely against cyclists full stop! well not entirely because I suppose they are being kinder to the environment, but as a driver they really really get on my nerves. Not only do they jump red lights, they cut infront of you, undertake you when it's clearly not safe to, go on the ...more | fed up of the 2 wheelers |
| 10-6-2008 | I'm completely against cyclists blasting through pedestrian crossings when people are using them. However, because the worst consequence of a cyclist shooting a traffic junction is getting themselves squashed, I can't say I am bothered by it in the least (and do so most days on my commute). ...more | Dave M |
| 23-5-2008 | I enjoy cycling, and it's the best way to get around and see London. Highway laws have evolved around the motor vehicle - and I think that says it all.
I drive when one has to and I hate it. Its like a race horse with eye patches. I'd much prefer to be on a bicycle.
Anyway I've bee...more | Drew |
| 13-2-2008 | I agree that cyclists should not jump traffic lights. This should also apply to pedestrians who do not wait until the little green man shows, this can cause havoc, but it is not a fineable offence! not that I want yet another money making idea to loom at us, but the highway code is for all road us...more | pauldocgreen |
| 01-2-2008 | I am hopping mad!
Have just heard on the news about the motorist who killed a cyclist who jumped a red light because she (the motorist) was sending a text message. Afterwards it was said to be a message to drivers not to use mobile phones. OK. BUT is it not also a message to cyclists that jumping ...more | Sueps |
| 05-11-2007 | I think bike riders should have to pay to use the roads and have to have a licence to do so like the rest of us and get fined perhaps then then might act like human beings not like the complete a........s they usually are | nuffin0 |
| 16-10-2007 | Oh, I totally agree that cyclists shouldn't jump red lights. It's just a petty annoyance though, right? At the end of the day, they're the vulnerable ones,if a car comes the cyclist is going to die, yes?
Think on then that in the 2004-2005 period, in London alone, 8 million fixed penalt...more | samuri |
| 07-9-2007 | I was cycling home last night, I did actually stop at a pedestrian crossing, when the lights were red...I waited for the pedestrians to cross and for the green man to turn red, and then I pulled off, as there was a car up my backside. After about 3 seconds I had a police motorcycle blaring his siren...more | Strapper |
