The Weekly Gripe

Are dogs allowed on buses, public transport and pets

My dog wasn't allowed on the bus

Taking a dog on the bus

I feel humiliated and angry. I am an honest hard working person who has chosen to travel by public transport as the best and most environmentally friendly way to travel around London.

I take the 219 bus every day to and from work and I am very disappointed in the unfair and rude way I was treated by one of the drivers. I was refused entry with my dog and the driver simply drove off without any explanation.

I e-mailed First Group (as in First Bus) concerning this and they sent me a nice reply saying that dogs can travel free but if you have a large dog you may not be allowed to board at peak times because of the dog taking up space that a paying passenger coul...moreI use to work in buses

23-11-2007I stand corrected. I found a similar gripe that has been running since Summer 2005. Proves my point, doesn't it?Bored of People Moaning About Dogs
23-11-2007Wow, this gripe has been running since mid-July! Surely proving, whether you are a dog lover or dog hater, that dogs are an intrinsic part of our national identity...?!!Bored of People Moaning About Dogs
20-11-2007Hi, I lived in Europe for many years and dogs are most welcome just about anywhere. You can walk around a clothing department such as H&M and there will be dogs present. Same for pubs and cafes. We just haven't got it right here in England but then again, we have too many irresponsib...moreMaz

02-11-2007but I would not want them to be exterminated during a mass cull. Every single living thing on this planet has its place, and for any one species to be exterminated is detrimental to life as a whole. 02-11-2007I think that anybody who wants to see the domestic branch of an entire species exterminated is someone who should be watched very carefully, as the desire for mass murder is extremely UNdesirable in any social species such as homo sapiens. Personally, I dislike domestic cats, but I would not want...moreNikki
