Broadband Complaints

Broadband is great if you can get it. Ever had trouble getting a reliable service from your internet provider (ISP), or are you having connection problems. Are BT not really much help? Join the discussion and share your experiences

I've used the internet now for a number of years both at home and at work and have been waiting for the day when I can have an 'always on' high speed link at home at a relatively low cost.

21-6-2009In response to Nigel9009, I think that in most contracts, even when unlimited, there is a 'reasonable use' or similar clause which allows them to cap usage which they deem to go beyond the bounds of 'reasonable' for domestic purposes, if that is what you've paid for. I also ...moreMikeP
21-6-2009I have found out yesterday through various forums, that B.T. are blocking access to a website that I am a premium member. The website is a file vault where people do share their files with their friends. I am on Option 3 with B.T. which, as B.T. states is "unlimited" usage. I admit to bein...moreNigel9009

10-6-2009I have never connected to the internet, and I am thinking of getting Broadband with BT, but I am having second thoughts because of all the negative comments here from users. Do you have problems because you live in remote places, far from the 'exchange'? I live twelve miles from a town, and ...moreGeoff
05-6-2009I have a recurring problem where my bt broadband suddenly drops in speed to 0.2 megabits from 3.0. When complaining bt broadband claim all is ok with the line and my equipment is faulty. This is not the case as I have taken my computer and netgear to a different house and the speed is then normal. B...morebill

One is marked GPO and the plastic is broken (spiders nest inside) and the other is not the approved NTE5 type. BT Telephony says correctly that my phone line is OK, while BT Br...moreMike
