Broadband Complaints

Broadband is great if you can get it. Ever had trouble getting a reliable service from your internet provider (ISP), or are you having connection problems. Are BT not really much help? Join the discussion and share your experiences

I've used the internet now for a number of years both at home and at work and have been waiting for the day when I can have an 'always on' high speed link at home at a relatively low cost.

23-7-2008It would seem that you get a worse service on the lowest Broadband Band.I moved from the Unlimited band down to the lowest Megabyte offer and find the system constantly failing. BT had better take care because services like 3G are much more reliable. Also operating on the same line from the local e...moreFrankie
23-7-2008Can't be any worse than Orange.Their customer support is useless and the way they treat customers is disgusting.I had a friend who ended up crying because of the way they treated her.bob
20-7-2008I have to ammend my comments on BT - they seem to have resolved my speed issues, even if they do not know it!! They sent me an email saying that I could not get anything faster than 0.5mbps, almost at the same time as recieving the email my line speed went to up to 1.9mbps and is currently around 2...moreSB
19-7-2008I'm reading the many complaints about BT download speeds and I'm jealous! Yes, practically all of you have much better speeds than I have. I've got "up to 0.5 mbps". I don;t live on an island in the Atlantic but 3 miles from the centre of a large town. I've been all ove...morestoneage surfer
14-7-2008I have had BT braodband for about 2 years. In that time the best speed I can get is 2.5MB. and most times a lot less that that. BT tell me that it is an acceptable speed for my area. BT should charge for the speed they provide. e.g. full price for 8MB and a pro rata lower charge for lesser speeds...moreDavid D

08-7-2008I have made a lot of complaints about BT Broadband. My router overheating, loosing all broadband and very slow response. 06-7-2008heres another one,,,currently advisors are contacting customers about BT's new tradespace saying that its free advertising on google,,,as we all know google doesnt do free advertising. But thats what you get when you outsource your work to a company that doesnt even have a qualified BT trainer.haha bt
06-7-2008Anyone want to get out of a bt contract? Maybe your 6 months into a two year contract....simply call them....Say you got a phone call from bt the other day asking if you would like to regrade for a year and get a discount. There are so many bt call centres the sales team will believe you and do what ...morehaha bt
05-7-2008thanks, Nick but BT engineer has already been & declared he was completely mystified. Lovely chap though. I asked a friend who works in IT & she solved the problem straight off (yes, she's that rare thing - a woman in IT). She advised buying a 2-way phone splitter. Disconnect everyth...moregrrrbroadband
03-7-2008Grrr,You probably have a fault on your internal wiring or possibly an HR (high resistance ) fault on your line. Before asking for an engineer, check the broadband where the line comes into the house if possible, with all other wiring disconnected. If it works O.K then the fault is on your wiring and...moreNick
