PIN protection on Sky Movies, can't record late films

Sky Movies PIN number annoying

Sky PIN protection on movies

I only used to record films because I wasn’t around at the time they were broadcast and wanted to watch them later on - at my convenience. They have basically taken away your right to choose when and where you watch the film.

Every time I try to record a film on sky movies, I get the 'Enter your pin number' message at the bottom of the screen and the film doesn't come on until you enter this pin number.

24-7-2008I feel like having a rant about this as it is pathetic. My mum and dad got sky when I was 13, and mum decided to put in place a pin number for parental control, which I didn't mind at the time. However I was quite capable off viewing the ratings myself and making my own decision as to which film...moreSKY MOVIES WASTE OF TIME
22-6-2008I totally agree. I hate the pin number it is pointless any way I had a daughter of 12 and one of 16 so if they watched a 12 or 15 movie or my wife and I watch an adult movie we all use the same pin number- totally pointless. I GAVE UP SKY MOVIES AS A DIRECT RESULT OF THE INTRODUCTION OF THE PIN.geezer

28-2-2008I too have the same gripe as Mr Algie; trying to record a movie to watch later at my convenience has proved to be impossible. I was told by one of the customer service operators to go into Services, then down to Parental Control and/or Viewing Restrictions and remove the lock. I had done this some...moreMrs Lesley White
29-1-2008It should be so simple, Sky should allow customers to opt-out of the auto pin before watershed so that they can fulfill regulations that they are not subjecting minors to graphical content whilst allowing their maturer customers the flexibility to record and watch as suits them.Josh
01-1-2008This annoys me. It doesn' t take any effort whatsoever to enter a FOUR digit number into the control. I certainly wouldn't want my five year old watching something I didn't approve of. I think it's a good idea. Does everything have to be so 'automatic'?'It's just lazyWelcome to the 21st century
07-10-2007Take out your sky card, and look at the last 4 digits of the number. Thats you pin.Sam
24-8-2007As a virgin media customer I am counting the days until I can join up with sky again. Yes their pin for the movies is naff, but better than Virgins pin attempt, yes they are greedy but I was with sky for 5 years, and I didnt have to argue my bill every month. Phoning sky is a hassle? Try Virgin Med...moreChicken
24-8-2007you must call customer services to get the pin changed to a number you can pick yourself, it will take 24 hours to change over.Jay
21-8-2007Does anyone have an update on the SKY Movies pin number situation. Being forced to enter it is stupid as there is no kids in the house. Its a rip off and stops me recording. What idiots invented this farce ?Gareth Bruce
