Spitting on the pavement
By the way, I would also like to include spitting out chewing gum onto our pavements in with this gripe for all the same reasons! This is an equally disgusting habit and I wish people would think about the concequences.

Spitting is such a disgusting habit. I just wish there were some divine power that would turn it around mid flight and fling it back in the faces of the morons that feel the need to spit all over the street in the first place!

| 18-7-2008 | I have lived in the middle east and mixed with footballers and have witnessed spitting quite frequently. Whilst it might be culturally and socially acceptable for certain invidividuals to spit in some parts of the world, there are many here in Great Britain and in some parts of Eurpe, who find it o...more | Marmalade Smith |
| 21-6-2008 | people spit because, it is part of the normal body process, making the human body illegal is just one step closer to messed up utopia ideas, there are more dangers in the water you bathe your dermis in and pour into your body, if you are so concerned you should consider a water filtration station in...more | bla bla bla |
| 15-5-2008 | I was of the belief that spitting in public was still illegal. It certainly used to be, which is why spitoons were provided on many street corners. I have never heard of a repeal, but I imagine it may have sneaked through somehow, theough the Lord alone only knows why. It is stomach-turning and as y...more | OldGeezer |
| 25-4-2008 | Try any big city in France. Spit and phlegm are minor problems compared to steaming coils of pungent dog turd. | MikeP |
| 25-4-2008 | I completely agree, although I live in a totally diffrent country. But this should be forbidden everywhere in public.
If you live in UK and are disgusted by the "big blobs of gob" that you're seeing there, I guess that's nothing compared to what you'd see in Budapest, Hungary....more | Istvan |
| 12-4-2008 | I totally agree that spitting in public areas should be illegal, however I am sure way back when I was a less mature person, we had signs in Public Toilets forbidding spitting on the floor (so we carefully turned upside down and spat on the ceiling) which would incur a fine ?. I can find nothing to ...more | 1950's |
| 07-4-2008 | Mal, several of my relatives have hayfever and other allergies. I myself have a slight allergy to pollen and used to create quite a lot of mucus while on a long road to recovery from being in an apartment fire. None of us spit. Swallow what you've got. It will not harm you. It's going into y...more | Zazazu |
| 26-3-2008 | i'd rather spit and be damned thank choke on my own mucus during hayfever season

| 19-2-2008 | Whenever I see spit on the ground I get a gag reflex. I dont understand why people spit(except those with a disease), I have never felt the need to do it! But if one has to,then doing it privately,or at least in a tissue is not rocket science, and they should avoid that horrible noise they make. Yes...more | Lisa |
| 24-10-2007 | I'll stop spitting in public when smokers stop letting smoke get in my way!!! | Take that! |
| 24-10-2007 | Sputum on the side walk. That's spit on the pavement. Having taught my kids that anything that was on or in their body is personal to them and should be disposed of discreetly. I'm very proud to say that those 3 males now find it as disgusting as myself to see sputum on the sidewalk.
I find...more | Londoner |
| 15-7-2007 | People from the far-east consider blowing your nose into a tissue and then putting it away in your pocket or up your sleeve disgusting. There was a TB epidemic in Europe, (not asia), hundreds of years ago and the government advised the public to start blowing their noses, today however we have Tube...more | Shore |
