Over the past 18 months we have heard the rumours and seen press statements about Electricity prices rising, but it’s getting silly now. Prior to privatisation we all paid reasonable amounts for these life sustaining products.

| 19-2-2008 | My wife and I pay an average of 85 pounds per month on a pre pay meter for electricity alone. We have gas central heating in our three bed house. | 28-1-2008 | To beat the energy increases we should all use only enough energy to cook with, turn the heating down or off and put more clothes on to keep warm. If enough people did this for a short time the energy companies would have to bring the price back down.

British Gas, owned by Windsor-based Centrica, said that it would make a loss this year without the price rise.

| 10-7-2007 | I have just phoned scottish power as my electric bill is showing that I am paying the same price per unit as I was at the beginning of this year .
