Slow police car
Have you ever been trying to get to work and run into a load of traffic and wondered what the hold up could be, only to find that some pratt of a police car is driving way below the speed limit?
|
If find this so frustrating. Why do police cars drive so slowly on the motorway and hold all the traffic up? What on earth are they doing, shouldn't they be catching criminals somewhere?

| 08-5-2008 | The reason that they do tend to drive slower is either to allow traffic to actually pass them rather than holding drivers up and making them nervous and jumpy, or they are looking for something/someone. It's hardly the police drivers fault that the public won't pass them. They are not stoppi...more | Chris |
| 08-5-2008 | The reason why Police vehicles travel at 50-60mph on motorways is to stop large tailbacks being created, if they travelled at 70mph nobody would overtake them. | roger |
| 06-5-2008 | It is interesting to see people criticize police. They rant about how much of a burden they are yet no body seems to consider how much the public can be a burden to them. Even more interesting, do people ever consider what police deal with? I am not refering to disgruntled citizens, but also the hor...more | Yan |
| 25-4-2008 | ...additional, police will generally pull you for driving too slowly on a busy road as it can be just as dangerous as driving too fast, think about it for a second... a car driving at 50 (generally just below is the usual for your average patrol car) on a road where the flow of traffic steadily move...more | eddychops |
| 25-4-2008 | I am a law abiding citizen... yet the sight of police makes me nervous. why is this? In my experience (which hasn't been slight, believe me!) 99% of police are overbearing and overzealous, not upholders of the law, but persecutors for the law (lest we forget the shooting of Mr Menezes)... as I u...more | eddychops |
| 22-4-2008 | I have overtaken a police car on a motorway. I was travelling at 70 and slowly crept past them at which point I was flashed, told to pull over and informed that I was speeding. Yet a 206cc infront of me just before I overtook the police car, containing a big breasted young blonde, actually pulling a...more | discriminated |
| 19-2-2008 | I have probably already written this comment, however, If the Police drove 20mph over the speedlimit I would understand this gripe, however, this gripe is about Police driving 20mph under the speed limit, which I see nothing wrong with. If the police are travelling at 90mph on a motorway, can they c...more | Lee |
| 18-1-2008 | When are you people going to realise that 99% of police officers are genuine people that really do care about doing a good job. YEAH RIGHT!

| 07-12-2007 | The police services in this country appear to be the most disciplined that I’ve seen. I’m a Paramedic and usually interact with the Police on many occasions and I have never seen evidence of behaviour that merits some comments.

| 20-9-2007 | Whealjane...you have rattled my cage. How dare you suggest that the police owe you something because you pay their wages. Have you never considered that they also pay all the taxes that you do and therefore also pay their own wages.

| 19-9-2007 | Dave,
The answer is to know your speed limits. If it is a de-restricted road then it is OK to drive upto 60 if it is safe and the cops won't pull you up. They are only there to stop you going over the limit. They will not bother you otherwise, | Al |
| 09-9-2007 | 50mph is the recommended speed for motorway patrol vehicles, as it permits officers best view of vehicles passing them. Also, anyone hanging back is fairly suspicious at that speed on a motorway. As for other roads - perhaps this comes as a surprise, but occasionally, police are actually looking out...more | Ricardo |
