Is Gordon Brown's telling big fat lies?

The truth in politics

HM Treasury - the truth

The truth in politics, well as far as I can see there isn't much truth in politics and you can't believe a word Mr Gordon Brown has to say. He's squandering our hard earned money on a bunch of thickos that would rather sponge off

Gordon Brown is looking for excuses to extract more money off us to pay for his deceit. I see no future in this country with the middle classes who work long hours who get penalised to compensate for sponging beggars.

17-3-2008Yes. Pa Glum MCBroon as PM and as Chancellor, and B'Liar before him have imposed the worst aspects of 'Control Freakery' all in the name of 'Democracy' -- Their 'democracy' that is. All those draconian laws for 'International Terrorism', yet 30 or so years of IRA ...moreUncle Vanya
04-2-2008Considering that when Tony Bliar and co were voted into office, declaring that they would be a "whiter than white administration", and having lambasted the previous Tory Government for sleaze, isn't it odd that we seem to have more fiddles and dodgey deals uncovered since "New&quo...morehawkeye
29-11-2007Gugs is right. From a young age we are sold the 'democratic state' and we grow up believing this, freedom of speech and all that bung. Freedom of speech, will it get you anywhere, of course it won't. I live with the fact that this government is my number one enemy and will remain ...moreKarl
20-11-2007It’s a country run by aristocratic buffoons who have no regard for the average person. Lets face it, the MP's rarely use the NHS (they go private), send their kids to state schools (they go public) and they only use public transport as a last resort (they travel first class at Tax payers e...moreGugs
27-7-2007The Only truth is that M.P's just want power for themselves and not for the good of the people. Everything is twisted to serve someone's purpose at someone elses expense. Being Prime Minister should just be a job which you are allowed to do for one year only. This is because, sadly, there a...morechris

16-2-2007We all get what we deserve. Never did this comment ring more true than this one. 05-9-2006Poll tax was categorically fairer than council tax, it is for SERVICES, for the poeple living in the house not the house itself. Gordon Brown should be jailed for grand larceny and the destruction of the economy.Morgaine
17-5-2006Willy: I too thought the Poll Tax to be extremely fair. Having read several of your threads, I suggest you get that ruddy great RED chip of your LEFTIE shoulder.Nikki
01-5-2006Remember, there are more poor people than rich people and politicians put together. Therefore who do you think is the group to be ripped off. The only thing Gordon changes is the amount he grabs, and that gets larger!MT
22-4-2006In my opinion, Poll Tax was fairer than the present Council Tax as it was based on the number of individuals in the property not the value of the property. This way everyone was treated equally. Why do some believe it is unfair - probably because they are in below average properties which Poll...moreLogic Al
