Why parents take their spoiled brat to a nice restaurant

Screaming kids at the restaurant

Screaming Kids

There's nothing worse than trying to have a civilised conversation in a nice restaurant, but you keep getting interupted because the monster at the table next to you is throwing a tantrum (either that or his dinner!).

I can understand new parents not knowing what to do in certain situations, but when we are trying to have a family meal in a restaurant, why does there always have to be a screaming brat who doesn’t like vegetables?

11-11-2007That might of been me, was not being snobby only I don't really know anyone who hits kids where I live, nor are many misbehaved. Don't really act out in public either. Maybe I just live in a happy town? or maybe I just don't see it?mother with attitude
11-11-2007I agree, Stevie sounds like a very nice young man. Also, I hope that I did not offend anyone when I stated that I come from an upper middle class neighborhood. I think someone questioned what neighborhood people came from with the behaviors discussed here. I really did not mean to offend anyone.Iluvkatzz2
11-11-2007I do also strongly agree with not hitting children, it really does not benefit them in away in my opinion. However people do it children, it happens. There is a difference between smacking a child if they misbehave and physically abusing a child though. I feel that from what Stevie has said he was t...moremother with attitude
11-11-2007I appreciate the fact that we all have opinions, but I strongly do not agree with hitting a child. I have worked with too many young people who do not trust adults because of abuse. This is just my respectful opinion and observations.Iluvkatzz2
10-11-2007If we all had the same upbringing's then the world would be a boring place as we would not all have different life experiences and different opinions. 09-11-2007Iluvkatzz2 - I must write for I feel the urge to do so right now. My upbringing, to me, was a fantastic one to write the very least. I was disciplined physically as a child and this has made me a better man. I don't care much for where you live or, how you live your life. But what I de...moreStevie
09-11-2007Hi, We actually live in an upper middle class neighborhood. I think some little ones are spoiled and parents are tired, so they simply just allow them to act out. It is really sad, because children do not learn manners. I also agree, that a child should never be hit. I believe in "natural...moreIluvkatzz2
09-11-2007Mother with attitude - You really seem like a nice, warm loving mother to me. I respect and have all praise for all you have to write here.
