English football hooligans and drink related violence

English football hooligans

Football thugs

Why do we have to put up with voilence and these thugs every weekend after a football match. After an all day drinking session they kick off a fight when their team looses the match.

I guess I have thought this for some time now, but you're all just a bunch of hooligans aren't you?  I'm referring of course to English football, and in some cases rugby too.

14-12-2007For me its all about the football and then going to the pub afterwards. Not 'hangin' around on the streets and 'beating the s***' out of a rival fan who you don't know and if you did you would most likely share a pint or two with the. All football hooligans do is make a big deal ...moreLove Football
14-12-2007In those days you'd come out the ground and there'd be fighting, literally outside the ground, so you didn't even have to be part of the mob, you could just be part of the crowd exiting the ground and it would just be going off. I could immerse myself in it and take out my frustration...moreDaz
14-12-2007The multi-billion pound football industry tries to present only the glamorous image of the beautiful game, but there is an ugly side to the picture - a picture which the football authorities would rather was kept hidden.Wots Not Wot
14-12-2007I had my experiences specifically with Stoke City where it's a very tight firm that look after each other. There's a lot of respect and there's a lot of loyalty. The older guys and the top boys look after the young lads in match situations. That loyalty stretches as far as helping...moreNige
14-12-2007Everybody seems to blame the English for all the football violence despite whom the rival fans are. This is a load of rubbish. The phenomenon of football firms is misunderstood by an hysterical media out of touch with the realities of working class male culture.Barry G
