Wet shaving, wrong blades for razor handle

Did you get the wrong ones?
Have you ever needed to buy replacement razor blades and found that they don't fit the handle that you have? It's so frustrating that the Gillette Mach 3 and Sensor 3 packets look similar.

Razor blade companies have quite literally got us by the short and curly; with expensive replacement cartridges and incompatible fittings. It’s enough to make want to grow a beard.

| 15-5-2008 | Just buy online. I stopped using Gillette blades for ages, and then a friend told me about the online shop for Gillette Razor Blades, Jazzano.com, and my order arrived in under a week, with free delivery - sweet. Original blades, and way cheaper than buying in tesco. I tried aldi and lidl blades als...more | Razino |
| 15-5-2008 | Invest in an old style razor that takes the ubiquitous flat blade. You can pick these up for a very low price and they are simple to change and give very good results | Pognacious |
| 19-3-2008 | they are all well over priced anyway, none of them are value for money and who cares about a perfect shave? we just wanna shave and not need a morgage to do it. | ruler |
| 11-1-2008 | Steps to freedom:
1. Decide to take the small step to wearing stubble (which can look quite good)
2. But some clippers (£30 max)
3. Never buy razor blades ever again/replace clippers once every 10 years. | sas |
| 12-11-2007 | I've spent the best part of a week looking for sensor 3 refils. Non of the big supermarkets stock them, but I found some in Superdrug, only to discover they cost more than their disposable counterparts. How can that me I wondered. Surly the disposables have more plastic and are more complicated ...more | Pedro |
| 15-9-2007 | It's a free country (well, until the government get's its way) so if you don't like it, don't buy it! Stop whinging, if high priced razors keep you awake at night, grow a beard and get a life! | Jim |
| 07-9-2007 | I used the Tesco twin blade razors these days. They are really cheap, but work very very well. The only downside is that they need a couple of shaves before they really glide. I'd recommend them if you want to save some pennies | Clean shaver |
| 08-8-2007 | "Got us by the short and curlies," "blades incompatible with handles, then draws the conclusion that, "this is so that you are forced to buy your blades from THEM and no one else." OF COURSE GILLETTE only want you to buy their stuff, this is competition in the raw matey!

| 12-5-2007 | A couple of flint burins manufactured by mesolithics should do you a treat. | Ogg |
| 12-5-2007 | Yes, it's rather ridiculous the cartridge prices...So, I have developed a new handle and blade that are equally effective and drastically less expensive. Problem is I can not find a manufacturer for my concept. Does anyone have any idea where I might get something like this manufacturered? | Keith |
| 23-3-2007 | This has happened to me too. I wrongly picked up Sensor 3 cartridges in the local Tesco but did not discover the mistake until after opening the package.when it became unreturnable. On my next visit to Tesco I found they did not even stock the handle and was advised to go to a larger store. I have d...more | Chas |
