Unlimited broadband not fair usage policy

Unlimited broadband from ISP

Unlimited Broadband

Share your experiences with internet service providers that have a download cap. Campaign for unlimited broadband! Does your internet provider offer unlimited broadband, but then throttle the bandwidth during peak hours?

We want unlimited broadband! Why do broadband providers such as BT, Wanadoo, Freeserve and NTL etc have a capped service that restricts us to between 3 and 30 gigabytes a month? We don't want a limits on our broadband service!

26-7-2008You seem to be forgetting the old 'FAIR USAGE POLICY' which means that unlimited is actually limited!!!! The only provider I know of who actually offer unlimited are BE, but they are not available in my area unfortunately, otherwise I would BE with them in a minute! www.bethere.co.ukAndrew
07-6-2008In my experience, working for a leading ISP which provides DSL to business and residential markets; most people tend to over estimate their typical monthly download usage. Over 80% of residential and business users are downloading LESS than 20GB per month on 'up to' 8Mbps connections. I of...moreflyonwall.

23-2-2008Tiscali may not cap your monthly allowance per se but they do throttle all P2P and similar traffic (Including WoW data and EA Games files) between the hours of 6 and 11pm. As for your statement that P2P users are selfish. Get real! If it wasn't for others using more bandwidth the ISPs would co...moreMark

27-11-200756 pence per gigabyte? I'm curious where you got that statistic from. Even my $3.99 web host (that's dollars, not pounds - half it for the Sterling equivalent!) offers 50gb downstream traffic on its back-bone connections. It charges 50 cents per gigabyte overage - about 25 pence. So ho...moreLee
