Fed up with music in clothes shops
Maybe having a bigger play list would help, or perhaps shop staff could be encouraged to bring in some CD’s to play in the store. Oh dear, that’s technically broadcasting to the public though.

I'm fed up having to listen to stupid pop music in clothing stores. How can the staff that work there put up with Britney Spears all day long?

| 31-1-2008 | If enough people vote with their feet and walk out when they hear repulsive trancemix and 60's Motown, things might change......... nah, cancel that. Most customers are auditorily and/or spiritually deaf. Me? I wear earplugs everywhere I go. | Larry |
| 20-1-2008 | I love coming across the people dancing to Virtual insanity in the shops. Haha. Then pretending they've slipped. | laughable |
| 12-12-2007 | I agree to some extent.
I am a young person, and it still puts me off going into a shop if its playing a loud of rubbish so loud that I can't even hear myself think.
Then again, shops with no music and just a weird silence really annoy me. If you are with friends and trying to talk about the c...more | Sarah. |
| 07-6-2007 | The sound of silence is a rare thing.
I often wonder if people are afraid of being left with nothing but their own thoughts.... might we discover how stupid and shallow we really are?
Always make a point of politely asking that they turn the music down. If they refuse, find a different membe...more | Devongirl |
| 12-5-2007 | It doesnt always irritate me that shops play music, to be honest, if I didnt like it, I'd walk out of the shop... BUT, I don't think it's at all necessary to play music in shops that is SO LOUD and I LOVE techno and industrial music, but not played at a million decibels when I'm tryi...more | Rach Vickers |

| 29-11-2006 | My local Asda plays abysmal chart music over a poor sound system. When the music is not playing we get a a DJ who might as well be speaking in Dutch because I cannot hear what he is saying. What we have is just a mushy din. | Mrhoohoodilly |
| 03-10-2006 | I was actually browsing through a store with my mother the other day, and the store was playing a ridiculously explicit song (NOT the radio edit by any stretch of the term!) particularly loudly. It's just embarassing to be strolling through a store (especially with a parent) and having lyrics ab...more | Emmalina |

| 25-2-2006 | I do agree with you, but you have to understand that you have to have permission to play songs in shops. Well, most people don't do this, but that might be the reason you're bombarded with the same stupid britney spears song every time you go into that shop.(?) | sidders |
| 09-2-2006 | You might not believe this, but there are charity shops up my high street that insist on abusing bargain seekers with crappy music. Why on earth do they do this? I'm not really one for conspiracy theories, but perhaps these shops, malls, pubs, restaurants and even doctor's waiting rooms (I...more | John |
