24 hr pub opening in the UK, good idea or bad?

24 hour drinking a ridiculous idea

24 Hour Drinking

Do you think that opening the pubs for 24 hours is a good idea? Will it lead to more violence and problems?

The introduction of 24 hour drinking in this country is a ridiculous idea. It will only lead to more trouble and more violence on the streets.

09-4-2008I Think that 24 hour drinking in pubs should be banned everywhere but they're suppose to closedown at night after 11pm because it turns their drinking customers into violence & Anti-social behaving.Tom kenny
03-3-200824 hour drinking has been an absolute disaster! But this arrogant Government doesn't have the humility to admit it has made a major mistake in trying to impose European culture on the UK. It hasn't worked! So stop this madness now! The drunken violence has just been extended throughout the n...moreBoltonlad

I live in Blackpool and there is nothing worse than trying to do a bit of shopping iwth your children on a Saturday morning (yes, drunks in the morning) and all you can hear is swearing and all you can see is fighting in the streets, people being sick & people peeing in shop doorways (...moreNikkiMummy
06-6-2007well, don't you look silly now........!!!! its been over a year and no more problems than we had before. I would say its slightly better. The lesson is, just because you are scared of something, that doesn't make it wrong.Jimmy Wyld
04-6-2007Well I agree with you up to a point there, but I don't think tightening licencing hours is the answer. I think a more thorough approach would be to educate people on the effects of alcohol and to impose much stiffer penalties on those who break the law whilst under the influence. Having a drink...moreMatty
04-6-2007Twenty years ago I was a fit 16 stone man. However I was always very wary about going into my nearest town for a meal in the evening, which at the time had a very minor drunken youth problem, I resented the fact that it was prudent to go in early, park as close as possible to the venue and leave ear...moreblueberryhill17
