Well the script-writer of Life in Britain, that dreadful soap-opera, has decided to write down or out the current cast, economically to begin with, and truly and wholly later on.  This show is surely in its last episodes.

Face it, you are all third-rate as citizens, and will be treated as such.  What was supposed to be a true meritocracy has turned into a State run by Mephistopheles.  All you Dr Fausti out there who sold your souls to the Devil [Mrs Thatcher] 24 years ago on the promises of monetarism, that Devil has now come to collect his/her own.

Consider yourself lucky to have a job...

Consider yourself lucky to have a job to commute to, even with rail journeys at £1200 per year?  Well I don't.  My job has been rubbed out, downgraded, and dumbed-down.  I no longer enjoy working anymore anyway.  The interests I had at the start have all since been removed by remote, accountant managers and masters who seek only ridiculously measured and meaningless goals, and who have turned the job into a mental, tortuous, grueling nothing.

A fish market...

Governments and corporations are now like corrupt religions.  We are all awaiting a dissolution of the Monastery.  Who will rid us of these troublesome priests?  Off with their heads: they are all traitors to the cause.

In 50 years from now the Oligarch of Hong Kong will buy up this land lock-stock and barrel to use as a waste dump for toxic materials.  The rest of Europe will put up an ecological barrier to separate their green and pleasant lands from this barren, sterile wilderness.

Britain I say has moved towards the dark stone days, years ago you could leave your door open and even the wind that past bye would not even take your stuff away, people would have stall's outside and there would be home made cakes and all, now our living lives are being torn apart and all our dreams and hopes are stolen away, it is hard to move forward when there is to many brick walls to knock down, Britain needs shaking up and really quick, there is plenty of people and some even clever ones that sit back and moan do nothing, time to stand and make your point stand out, we should all rise as one and combat the evil greed.

We all kinda see what is happening to our country - to much talk never solved anything, action speaks louder than words ! Get a move on Britain, we are proud to be British so stop f-king the sh-t a" and sort it out will ya.

Have you ever wondered why you are so poor, why you are heading to absolute penury in your old age? Have you ever wondered why there is such a huge underclass in this country, such a huge disparity between rich and poor why it is not a rich commonwealth?

The answer lies in the institutions which run this country, the so-called Establishment. The Government and in particular the large multinational corporations and banks who run this country are like those in third-world countries - corrupt to the core.

Thiunk of the senior managment in such organisations, those who receive huge sums in salaries and bonuses, do they ever really justify these? Think of these slaraies and bonuses not as real rewards for the work done but think of them nothing less than "Bribes".

I am thinking of the kind of Briabes that have to be paid to the officials and ministers in third world, Middle Eastern and African countries, which if they are not paid, you may not trade or have any dealings with them. Such systems impovervish the nations in which they are found. Think of a country like Nigeria where bakshish is demanded wherever you go.

These kind of salaries and bonuses are wholly unjustified, unethical, not true value for money for the services rendered. Such bribes are endemic in the reward systems operated by such companies.

These people are robbing their companies and nations of their wealth. They are robbimg the investors and pensioners. They are robbing their workers at large. Think of them as nothing but robber barons, medieval in nature. Think of King John. Think of the need to hava a new Magna Carta, a new charter to sweep this country clean of this corruption.

If this country is not willing to face this truth then like the MPs expenses scandal, this scandal will last for centuries, unchecked.

Are you sailing through life in steerage class, like me and most of our fellow human beings?

Have you paid far too much for your ticket like I have? Do you think you have not received real value in turn for all the effort you have personally put in?

Life sucks down here in steerage class. Have you noticed when the ship sinks there aren't enough lifeboats for us all? The gates to the upper decks are all locked to us, and down we will all go with the ship.

When the British economy hit the iceberg of the banking crisis who got the lifeboats? Bankers of course!

Down we are going. The ship has up-ended The waters around us are deeep and cold. Down down down!

Miss big, a closer look at the nuclear club, we have the USSR with a permanent hotline to the USA, China, France, Israel, and us, the UK, more recently India and Pakistan have joined, who are mostly only a threat to each other.
Now we understand North Korea and Iran are soon joining, they are a bit of a threat, although Iran has never invaded another country, our defences are nuclear submarines with undersea launched missiles, we have four of them, one is always at sea, soon more and more little countries will be joining this club, whats to say that one of them could detect and destroy one of our subs, it would be sods law then that another could malfunction and the remainder would be undergoing planned maintainance, only mad Gordan wants to get rid of one, he really is some sort of Twxx isnt he, the money saved? would just go to more and more one parent families, the only thriving industry left in this country.

And I suppose you the stupid braindead idiot will want to nuke them before they send us their illegal immigrants? I am very concerned about having to live in a country shared will fools like yourself.
*Mr Bigger Brain  24-Sep-2009 20:38

I am very concerned over the government cutting our naval nuclear capability by 25%. There is all of those nasty peoples with their nasty dictators out there who want to get us because we are so much better than them. We need to be protected from them.

National MAritime Museum Exihibit

Shipping companies involved in the emigrant trade, such as Cunard and White Star, made their biggest profits from large numbers of steerage or third class passengers who were packed into dormitories.

Publicity was often focused on First Class as the liners developed and became more luxurious. However, emigrant passengers provided the bread-and-butter profits for the shipping companies.

From Book

A historical dictionary of the U.S. merchant marine and shipping industry

In spite of the glamour and luxury of first-class travel aboard the transatlantic liners, the real profits for steamship companies came from the persons in steerage class.

ca ira, I am very surprised and interested 1st and 2nd class passengers made Little profit for the Titanic. I wonder if you could please tell me the source of this Information? It sounds like an interesting book.
*Bangonforages  21-Sep-2009 09:05

Today I learned a very important fact. When liners like The Titanic were crossing the Atlantic they had three classes of passenger

1st Class = Aristocratic/Millionaire
2nd Class = Middle class
3rd Class/Steerage = Peasant from Eastern Europe/Working class

Amazingly enough transporting the 1st and 2nd Class passengers only made but very little profit for the company. By far the largest and overwhelming profit derived from transporting the Steerage class. I have not heard of a stronger argument and econmic reason for Socialism before. This clinches the argument. Let's us rid our country and nation of its upper classes. They are but parasites on the sea of the wealth of our nation.

Ah! ça ira, ça ira, ça ira
les aristocrates à la lanterne!
Ah! ça ira, ça ira, ça ira
les aristocrates on les pendra!
Si on n’ les pend pas
On les rompra
Si on n’ les rompt pas
On les brûlera.
Ah! ça ira, ça ira, ça ira
les aristocrates à la lanterne!

I ask whether Britain is fit even to join the ranks of the third-world, it is slipping so fast down the economic ladder.

Who needs universities anymore if all the jobs graduates from can get are only delivering pizzas?

We have no crafts in this country. Morocco far surpasses us in "mediaeval skills".

Our agricultural land is so poor that we can't even feed our over-burdening population from our sources.

Our seas are all fished out.

Our energy sources are all spent.

We have insufficient housing for all the immigrants coming.

People are not dying off fast enough, though that might change soon.

All of our political parties are dead-beat. None of them have any real imagination.

There is so much inequality in Britain that we will never fully bond together as a people and nation to face the economic situation the country has found itself in.

All this is the result of the usurious monetary system Margaret Thatcher left the nation with.

I loathe Britain and all who sail with her.
*Facing the Future  20-Sep-2009 09:21

I am currently abroad. I am ashamed to be British. I feel so poor. Foreigners have so much more than us. I work harder and longer hours for less than they. Their pensions will be higher than mine. They have larger properties, can afford longer holidays. All have holiday homes. My pay is so meagre compared with theirs.

I am ashamed of my country's history. 60 years ago we had a proud nation, a country which invented many things. We were a world betear. Our history for the last 60 years has been appalling. We have a had nation run by greedy and crooked politicians who have simply used the nation and siphoned off its wealth. And bankers who have sucked up the nations profits in their bonuses, and pay. These people have bled the nation dry.

What do we have? A sunken Britain, a Britain grown senile from its long history?

A Britain excluded from the mainstream evolution of the world,

A Britain excluded by it ridiculous attitude to Europe, and the Euro.

A Britain excluded from the Shenngen Visa system

A gauche, lefthand drive Britain.

A poor Britain. A Britain a hundred rungs down the ladder

I hate my fellow stupid Britons; they are so feeble minded.
