I'm getting a little fed up with the Daily Mail website. When I'm posting comments on some of the stories they are censored even though what I'm saying is a valid point.

One story appeared recently saying that there is research out saying chest x-rays are not always successful in diagnosing early stage lung cancer and that some patients may need to go back for further x-rays.

Someone commented that this is yet more evidence that the NHS was a complete failure.

Normal Xray of chest. Heart in the centre.

As an x-ray student I thought I'd reply and put the message straight.  I said that this is a piece of research which is pointing out that our current methods of diagnosing lung cancer are not always successful and should be taken on board so we can improve best practice.  Did my comment get published?  No!

The Mail says that education standards are falling.  Well, if they are going to encourage incorrect viewpoints on their website and not publish anything from anyone who looks like they know what they're talking about, I'm not surprised that people are lacking in the grey cells department!

That's what you get for dealing with the Daily Mail! Read the paper - when have they ever been fair about anything!

I’m unable to read that newspaper, because a small percentage is actually factual, the rest is really opinion and comment. I thus browse it sometimes but will never buy it.

Regarding the use of X Ray to diagnose early lung cancer. It is only one of the ways and usually the least invasive and quickest.

Since cancer diagnosis has been around for a while it is not news and any new study conducted would not reveal substantially different results.

The Mail is not NHS friendly so expect any supporting comment to be removed.

Wake up everbody! There is no such thing as a free press or any establishment media outlet. They are all controlled to give the illusion that our opinions count - the Daily Mail is just more blatent.
Answer to the problem - just stop reading or listening or watching this rubbbish - use the Web - go straight to the online blogs of the people who actualy know what they are talking about.
So-callled Professional Journalists are only express the views & information they know will meet the approval of their paymasters.

The Daily Mail didn't publish my comments either on a story about early walking. My own children walked as early as the one covered but were far more precocious in other ways. It wasn't published despite them asking for information on more advanced babies.

There is something very wrong about the way the paper conducts itself. I won't buy it again.

If you want to learn about the prodigious children in question (talking at a couple of weeks, walking at six months) go to www.scientific-child-prodigy.blogspot.com

Thanks for showing me that I wasn't the only person censored.

Kind regards

by the way you are a radiography student not an x-ray student.

Try spelling "Daily" correctly and they might just publish something of yours.

Ah, the Daily Mail - that ever reliable source of health scares, snobbery and incitement to racial disharmony. Don't you just love it?

Big news sites often don't post your comments, doesn't matter if your an x-ray student with brilliant ideas or not. The BBC is renowned for not posting comments.

The Daily Mail is simply trying to sell newspapers using sensationalism. Falsely scaring the public is a well-known technique.

Lies, damn lies, and stupid irresponsible newspaper editors.
