Media censorship on the Daily Mail

I'm getting a little fed up with the Daily Mail website. When I'm posting comments on some of the stories they are censored even though what I'm saying is a valid point.

One story appeared recently saying that there is research out saying chest x-rays are not always successful in diagnosing early stage lung cancer and that some patients may need to go back for further x-rays.

Someone commented that this is yet more evidence that the NHS was a complete failure.

Normal Xray of chest. Heart in the centre.

As an x-ray student I thought I'd reply and put the message straight.  I said that this is a piece of research which is pointing out that our current methods of diagnosing lung cancer are not always successful and should be taken on board so we can improve best practice.  Did my comment get published?  No!

The Mail says that education standards are falling.  Well, if they are going to encourage incorrect viewpoints on their website and not publish anything from anyone who looks like they know what they're talking about, I'm not surprised that people are lacking in the grey cells department!

Very interesting. Care to offer a supposition as to why "common purpose" might be censored?

Further to James' comment, the Daily Mail appears censors the word 'Common Purpose.' While it can be a bit tricky to isolate the words, it is a lot of fun and tells me more about the DM than anything they write.

My gripe is with the Daily Mail news we read here in the States and try to add some constructive comments. After numerous times trying to comment I have not been successful ONCE. UK media should try to understand/embrace free speech . . . Stop ignoring people Daily Mail.

Ooooooh yet more mince from the Daily Fail!

Similar to that creature Cole, are they also being paid (this time by the BBC) to go on and on and on about that god-awful Shitley Prancing show of a Saturday night?

Talk about Dumb Britain.

And now she's.....*drum roll*....texting!

Doesn't get any more thrilling than this.

Ooooh mince! Showbiz Reporters again and again and again. Pippa Middleton's ass. Tamara Ecclestone's bath. Kate Winslet's boyfriend. Cheryl Cole managing to breath out after breathing in. While we are on the subject of Cole. does the british media get paid by the word the amount of times they have to mention this creature?

Trash.

They would prefer you to mince on about useless "celebrities" to justify the useless "showbiz reporters".

Soaring national debt? Crippling fuel prices? Desperate and harrowing concerns in Japan? Nah, why notl mince on about Kate Middleton's fashion sense or Peaches Geldof in whatever club she has fallen out of lately...

With a 6.5 Billion Pound interest payment each week on national debt, yone would think the Daily Mail would allow some discussion about using 'interest free money' to pay off the debt and 'really stimulate the economy, but no .. once my comment has been censored.

It makes you wonder who the editors, newspaper owners, politicans, and banksters really work for ...

It wasn't "celebrity gossip" that's why. You need to give the "showbiz reporters" something to do other than mince on about women's appearances or who made who pregnant.

You know, important stuff.

Daily Mail refused to publish a comment about banking fraud - the way some banks wrapped high risk bad debts and sold them as 'derivative investments.' If we had the same rights as the financial industry, we'd be able to claw our money back! Why isn't the Ministry of Justice investigating these banks?

More censorhip in the Dialy Mail comments section. Draw a parallel between Iceland and Ireland and the DM won't publish it. I wonder why :-)

Once again, the Daily Mail censored one of my comments in which I drew a comparison between Iceland and Ireland. For those unaware, the People of Iceland decided to let their banks fail and they are now on the road to recovery. Anyone else interested in unbiased news should consider watching RT, Inforwars, Infowars Ireland, and UKColumn.

Just had a wonderful thought. From one of the Hitchhiker's Guide to The Galaxy books by Douglas Adams, he outlines planet Earths excellent plan to rid one third of it's most useless population by bundling them all on a preprogrammed space ship to land on a planet far far away.
Useless third = all "Showbusiness Reporters" is a great way to start.

Then Hello and Heat magazine "employees". Then all of ITV and SKY. The list is plentiful!

Daily Fail has a lot to answer for. Whatever you may think of The Sun it makes no apologies for what it is, a downmarket sensationalist rag.

The Daily Fail actually takes it self seriously. As if anyone with two brain cells to rub together believes its sanctimonious drivel as unfortunately, like most media, it thinks it "speaks for the people".

This notwithstanding their regular puff pieces by (and what a more useless description of employment I can't imagine) endless streams of "showbusiness reporters" about some useless human detritus photographed at a beach/club/shop etc etc. And then heartlessly criticise them. Showbusiness reporters...... if there's anything society needs less I cannot imagine.

Tawdry excuse for a newspaper.

You are absolutely right - Daily Mail comment censorship is rife. There are a number of things you can't mention - JP Morgan, Sky, de-select MPs, and many, many more.

I have been blocked from making comments on political forums at the Daily Mirror website. Why is this I wonder? I know that most of the other commentators tend to be supporters of the Labour party but surely if a newspaper claims to be democratic,as the Daily Mirror does, then they should allow all voices to be heard. I have never made any comments that are abusive, racist or obscene.

Yes, the Daily Mail panders to political correctness, even though it claims not to. Every time I post a comment on the issue of homosexuality, and that the fact I disagree with it doesn't make me homophobic, the comment doesn't get posted. Is there a q***r on the moderation panel?
