The greedy selfish human race, that’s my gripe.  What gives us the right to destroy our planet and think that it is ours to do with as we wish, so that we don’t care about any other living creature that we share the with.  They have as much right to live on this planet as we do!

A dead fish - the human race on self destruct

We’re living in the crazy times with wildlife habitat destruction, deforestation, over fishing and the mindless killing of intelligent creatures like whales etc.  Some of these animals, fish and plants are already classified as endangered, so what are we playing at here?  Are we going to do tear down everything until there is absolutely nothing left?

Here’s an old proverb that I think sums it all up nicely. "We do not inherit the earth from our ancestors; we merely borrow it from our children."

We can do so much to help protect our environment if we just open our eyes and do what is right.  For starters, it should be made law to recycle paper, plastics, cans and anything else that can be reused!  We need trees and so do other animals, birds and insects etc.  More should be done to protect them and recycle what we’ve got instead of consuming natural resources as if they were limitless.

The government should make local recycle points easy for every one to use, and fine people who don’t recycle.

Humans are on self destruct unless we change!

The only - and I mean the ONLY - issue here is the one no-one ever mentions: overpopulation - which leads to over-consumption. The population of the world has doubled in the last 40 years and will double again, and again, and again. THAT is the problem. Not recycling by yummy mummys or carbon footprints!

So is anyone trying to limit population - the the first, second or third worlds? Nope - quite the opposite. We give trillions in aid to third world breeders, and state benefits galore to breeders in the UK. The sensible thing would be to tax people who have kids more - and refuse trade and aid to countries that do not limit their populations. Better still, we could develop a chemical that would sterilise everyone and put it in the water supply.

All I can say is, the destruction of humanity lies in its reproductive success - and your children will probably witness the end of the world as we know it. The future will truly be hell. Serves you right really for breeding like rabbits.

I like the idea that someday somehow humanity will be revolutionised to be more compatable with the planet we live on. Though it'll probably be after a very hard learned lesson.

Hey, I checked out your web site but I couldn't find any pictures of the cockroaches you killed last week with poison. Are some forms of life more equal than others, perhaps?

Bring back a smallpox friendly planet.

Little Green Men, our modern day bushmen, are they New Ageists or are they simply just into the prevention of Old Age? Vegetarian sheep lovers, they are the New Age Frauds and Plastic Shamans with spastic bladders. Nowadays around here, you simply can't swing a dead cat without hitting a tree-hugger. Following introduction of a full tax on domestic PCs as well as upping the TV licence the government has promised that it will be spending the extra funds gained on asteroid collision avoidance courses. Are we all nothing but an endangered species spud bashing on an organic farm? What better way is there to enlarge our experience of mind, body and spirit than with a strong cigarette made with organic tobacco?

We may have hurt the Earth Mother badly by not eating macrobiotic foods and by digging for metals and oil. But don't let the mind parasites take over. They may have claimed to have spent a previous life with their dog in ancient Egypt, spotted UFOs in Peru, and have had close-encounter contact with aliens in China, Russia and Egypt? But did they really manage to tap into the secrets of the collective unconscious and ghoulish grotesqueries of human evil? Parasitism is one of the three most classic types of relationship in the organic world. The other two are predation and symbiosis. Notice that all these relationships involve energetic transaction.

We organic smokers are the strange, numerically superior paralyzed passive victims who almost never resisted the fascist non-smoking takeover. We don't want recycled secondhand smoke we want our own real firsthand smoke. The same with anything else, we don't want the world rules by do-gooders seeking only the latest form of glory for themselves. All Michael Moore is is rich man. All Al Gore is is another rich man. All are political animals seeking self glory.

I think recycling is very important to us, and our Earth. If we do not continue recycling, we could all die someday.

Standpoint - haven't heard of them, but yes I agree renewable energy from these sources can be extremely viable. Just look at what is happening on some of the Scottish Isles. Personally I think that a combination local power sources and the grid are the answer. The government should do more to help people who want to generate their own power and make their homes more energy efficient.

Has anyone ever heard of tidal power electric. There is a way to banish foot prints by using the sea for electricity and using rain water more effectivly. Solar heated water will help here as well.

It's sad we only think for ourselves and some people who commented earlier- saying -what's in it for me...better quality air-less disease, a new approach -hopefully begatting a new attitude.
Some people's comments just go to show you what an ignorant, mis-informed, misguided, sad world we exist in...note I did not write LIVE or THRIVE....

KenB well done you,ve hit the nail on the head. The problems with going green are ;

A) No Financial incentive
b) Makes life harder not more convienent
c) makes Gordon brown richer - backdoor taxes
d)its not nice coming from scaracity- using things in abundance is much nicer.

So Sorry you greenies - there no incentive- I'm not going to mess about with this nonense,

Good Luck to those who are,

I agree with KenB - Whats in it for me. Seems like a waste of time as all this nonsense I'll be dead in 60 -70 years- if you want to me do my bit ,make it worth my while pay me.
*Smithy  30-Dec-2006 09:47

Personally I dont give a damn about the environment - I think people who bang on about the environment must be very lucky ,as they dont't seem to have anything else to worry about,I wish all I had worry about was the environment,if the Authroties want people to do their bit give them an financial incentive (i.e reduction in Communtiy charge), then people might even consider doing a bit more.
Most people want make life easier and convient (chuck all rubbish into 1 bag and sling it out, not sort and go to the recycling place).
