BOY RACERS - I'm really sick and tired of the so-called "boy racers" with various types of customised cars, but all with loud exhausts, who just seem to roar around the local streets endangering other road users and pedestrians.

Why do these louts feel the need to heavily modify their cars and treat the streets like Silverstone anyway? It’s not cool and it doesn’t impress anyone, except possibly the other boy racers.

Sure, everyone needs a bit of a thrill now and again. I used to take my motorbikes to the local race track to let off steam, but these morons seem afraid to leave the safety of their council estate. Perhaps they are afraid they might get lost or something (hey what a good idea!).

The Police aren't interested (as usual), and I know of several residents who are planning to take some sort of vigilante action and severely damage the cars of the worst offenders.

I don't condone this, but I can certainly understand their frustration when nothing else can be done. People around here are simply fed up with these boy racers, and unless something is done soon someone is likely to get hurt.

I make myself comfortable in bed, close my eyes and soon fall into a deep peaceful sleep....................BRRRROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMmmm.....I am suddenly disturbed, sit bolt right in bed and realise that my peace and quiet has been disturbed by "A moron boy-racer" in his immature car, reving up and down the road! And the only question that comes to mind every time this happens is.....WHY? What actual "genuine" purpose do these stupid exhausts actually have! We all have to abide by set speed limits by law so if it's to make the car go faster (which I'm sure it doesn't) what good is that when you can only ever go 30, 40, 50, 60 or at most 70 mph? As for the noise...does it make them feel cool? like a man? or is it simply a power trip?????
I personally think the government SHOULD ban the modification of cars! It simply serves NO purpose to stick a sewer pipe to the back of your car so as to sound like a cow being tortured!

Boy racers are nothing but pathetic and annoying they think they own the road but if they saw what speed can do in a accient they would think again and mosty of the crashes are caused by them thinkin they can own the road and if they had any sense they would learn that most of there insurances are VOILD, 100% of boy racers insurances are Voild.

When did the custom car culture reach Britain? About 1965 as I remember! It was certainly thriving in the early 70's.

WHEN DID THE CUSTOM CAR CULTURE REACH BRITAIN?!?

I haven' been to the UK since 1992, and back then I never saw custom autos. Not only did the average young Briton not have the money, but American things like this were always ridiculed.

Totally agree with this post.
Show off the pathetic paintwork, your ridiculous applications to your crap cars such as 'street machine', make sure you have unsilenced your exhaust (exhaust - there's an appropriate word), turn your stereo up to the max with your w****y music choice so that people in Aberdeen just might hear, oh and make sure your steering wheel is fashioned from a chain.
Hey, you is part of da local massive, you is dressin' in 'appennin' tracksuits an' demandin' 'respec'. Don't forget to get a pitbull in case someone 'disses' you.

I really agree with you,what is the thing about big loud exhaust pipes & racing up & down the street in your saxo 1.1 blacked out windows,rap music so distorted you can t hear it properly.I suppose if your 17 I m a killjoy,"Respect"
