Boy racers on our streets should get a life

I live in Sanquhar and we have a massive boy racer problem. Is it any coincidence that these boy racers are the very same boys who were trouble at school and passed no exams to speak of. Any one with half a brain doesnt do this sort of thing. I also notice that their cars are a death trap at the worst and a real hazzard to respectable road users at worst.
Totally useless members of society who have nothing better to do with theior time than roar aorund in the small hours of the morning waking up respectable people who do actually have a job to go to in the morning.

It is time that police adopted a zero tolerance policy to people who endanger the lives of others by using lethal weapons in an inappropriate manner. A car is a lethal weapon when misused.

The cars should be confiscated and crushed, if not in 100% roadworthy condition, and most of them aren't when they have been modified. Those in decent condition, and that would be the minority, should be sold at public auction and the funds paid into a road accident fund to help the victims of uninsured drivers.

I would stop short of saying that they should be crushed with the occupants inside, but the thought has crossed my mind.

This group of morons belong to the same "tribe" who tear around on quad bikes and track bikes making as much noise as they can.
We moved off a council estate because of this problem, as I said in a previous post "THIKOS" all they can do is create mayhem and noise.
Some people actually condone this behaviour, "sport" "pastime" etc.

Loud exhaust = small manhood, small mind. This element still haven't evolved much beyond placing sticks in their spokes to make their bikes sound 'groovy'. I wish we could tip the country up like a wheel-barrow and send them into the Atlantic - make as much noise and nuisance as you like there any time (the deeper the better).

What about them? I'll tell you what. Their actions in no way mitigate the actions of boy racers. I put both groups in the same boat: morons.

What we are seeing in this country is a system that does not punish the right people. For example, in a certain area near me there are ridiculously-high speed ramps, even few yards. Why? Because of the idiotic aforementioned element. So the rest of us suffer our cars being damaged and the inconvenience of being bounced around like cattle thanks to the cretinous slime and the council who just thinks out of it's rear instead of tackling the source of the problem.

Even now, at 5:08am I have been woken 3 times by this lot. You add up the hours..days of your life you lose and you realise the absurdity of trying to put up with it. We have done no crime to deserve this. We move to other areas, our peace only lasts so long.

The majority of people who support this kind of behaviour are not true car fans, they are boy racers and people who sell loud exhausts. They are people who get a twisted, vindictive kick out of annoying others. They are people who never really 'grew up' and faced their responsibilities like they should have done. If you think this is evil speak then make no mistake - you really need to live amongst this element to understand how it ticks, how it breeds and how it destroys communities. Ban loud exhausts in built-up areas. If they're seen driving too fast for the conditions, or they've got a bad attitude - take them off the roads and make them walk. Time to deal with this social vomit and the problems it creates. We the majority haven't done anythnig wrong here, remember that. We deserve better than to be subjected to this crap.

AJ people like you make me sick. Why should the majority who are decent, respectable and law-abiding people, have to put up with this menace? Your excuse of "it's life stop complaining" is no excuse.

Every single day it is hell where I live. These morons race around my estate en masse; they go up and down every few minutes with such routine that you can set your clock by it. Not one, not two or three, but literally gangs of cars. The noise is so loud it shakes my windows. Every single time I take my phones off or go to the toilet I can hear them. Why the hell should they be allowed to do it?

If I played my music loud or shouted a lot, or was as much of a general moron as these people then I would be noticed - so why aren't they being done for breach of the peace? We live in a crowded country where space and privacy is at a premium, so the priority in built-up areas should be respect. The way they look, they way they sound (mouthing off), the dangerous way they drive.

Please, just let them crash and die in a fire ball. Sorry but that is how I feel, these people make my life hell and I get no peace, I cannot relax in my own house and I'm just sick of it. I reckon either the law should stop AND fine these morons or society will find it's own way of dealing with them. Go seek attention someone else (children's play pen?), let the adults have their peace and privacy - or maybe we should get our OWN cars and rev them up outside their house all day and night. I bet they'd soon come out of their chav-infested hive to complain then. This moronic element can rot in hell as far as I am concerned.

It's not so much the modifying of the cars. It's the racing around the streets. Although I must admit I don't see the point in doing up a car. You buy a car because you like the look of it. Not because you can do this with it, do that with it. I'm an 18 year old boy and have a saxo. Now I know immediately what your thinking. "yeah you're a boy racer". No, i'm not actually. I hate ragging my car. I love it so much. It's never been owned by a boy racer and I am the first young person to have owned it so it is in incredibly good condition and I aim to keep it that way. I must also state I am afraid of the road. I know people who have died in crashes and I don't want that happening to me. Thing is, you can't stop the boy racers. People and police are always trying to tell them "if you want to race go to a race track" but that doesn't work because they want to race on the streets. Oh and another reason why I don't race is because I race karts and get my satisfaction for speed doing that. It therefore enables me to understand when and where is the right time to go fast - save the racing for the track. Cars on the road are for tranport from A to B. We need to work together to get these idiots off the road. Or to calm them down. Thing is, not eveyone my age is a boy racer. I know someone who is as careful as you like.

Two examples of boy racers:

The first was a group of lads in an area I recently had the misfortune to live in. One of them had an Audi RS4 with a knackered exhaust. Every night until the wee small hours they would drive round fast and very loud. Round and round the same area, night after night, until the police impounded the car and nicked the driver for breach of the peace or whatever it was.

The second example isn't really a boy racer. It's a friend of mine who loves fast cars and knows how to drive them. He looked after his boss' house while he was on holiday and had access to his Porsche 911 Turbo. Being a decent professional chap, he didn't constantly drive round a residential area last, fast and dangerously to enjoy the car. He took the car out of the city to quiet country roads where there was nobody around.

That's the difference between socially backward scum and the rest of us.

Damaging there cars is childish and silly, grow up and put up with it. its life stop complaining, maybe there are sick of old silly slow people like you taking 10 mins to turn a corner!

boy racers soon will be a thing of the past I think because of rising insurance premiums and harder driving tests. however I have to say that I have no idea why people have this boy racer mentality. I often think that these people close their eyes and pretend that they are driving a ferrari and not some cheap old banger with a wooden spoiler and some tasteless stickers.

I hate the boy racers that congregate in sanquhar - they are loud, selfish and a hazzard. an accident waiting to happen and universally annoying. people all over the town have complained ofr years about them but the police do nothing, they arent interested in moving these louts on but responsible people get pulled over for broken lights etc

boy racers are not harmless.In our area they speed make a lot of noise, and andanger the people living there. We have had a number of accidents in our street, as a result of speeding by these idiots. This is something we take very seriously and we do want to see real consequences for this idiot's behaviour.

I think that boy racers should be not aloud on the road because is too dangerous

Don't forget the GIRL racers, theres plenty of them about now and the number has been growing over the last 10 years or so, the so called "ladettes" have got the same cocky ideas about driving and social interaction as the young lads, and some of them can even be worse...

people wan to make money selling loud crap to kids, thats why they sell so many different phones that connect to social networking sites and personal digital music players and big car sound systems.....I feel bad for the kids with a 1.2 tiny car with biddy licke teeny weeny wheels and a furry dice, and a big fat 8 inch wide exhaust that looks like it belongs on the output stage of a Helicopter gas turbine engine.....sticking out the back and going bumbumbumbum broom brom bumbumbum- cost about £900 which could have been put towards a better car or saved for their other upgrades...a lot of the young ones want them but I was always in the opinion that they would draw attention and would put me off driving after a certain time of night due to this, that and the Police pulling you over for a shakedown because they felt like it as they didn't like the sound of your car...

I dont have a problem with 'boy racers' its a hobby, they enjoying modding ther cars I have more problems with older drivers between 40 and 50 with there fast expensive who are more prone to race about trust me I know many of them.

LOUD EXHAUSTS ARE OFFENSIVE - plain and simple

Would it be acceptable to run up to a stranger and SHOUT LOUDLY IN THEIR EAR ? NO..so why is this ?

do what me and my friends do...nip out at nite and shove any solid cylinder object roughly the diameter of the exhaust- 30cm long into the exhaust of the offender - 2 bananas works a treat.

a noisy neighbour in our area had to have his noisy suburu exhaust fitted 3 times , then he eventually caught on and got a normal exhaust.
